Bad qualityMaryMary16Both myself and my sister bought one each for our flats around 3 years ago and both of us had the exact same issue the side part with the storage just started to pull away from the base. We tried contacting IKEA but apparently this wasn't covered. I would not advise anyone to purchase this from reading the comments I see we are not alone and many people have had the exact same issue.1
Not sturdyGj1975We have had the sofa bed about 2 years, not used it as bed very often and now the underneath part has broken and unable to use as sofa bed anymore without it colapsing3
Bad qualityAnn92Bought this sofa 10 months ago and its already falling apart and it's broke. Wish I never bought it. Not happy with the quality at all.1
Poor qualityGeoff51We bought this product 3 and a half years ago for our spare room and has been slept on twice to date. It hasn't been used a lot as a sofa either until the Corona virus pandemic started when it has been sat on a number of times over the last three months.Last week the side panel of the storage box collapsed making the sofa now completely unusable. It appears the wood panel is made of a low quality chipboard and certainly not built to last. For the money it cost, the quality of this product is very disappointing.1
Good sofa bedCB2205Sofa bed purchased for teenage hang out. Fairly easy to put together (have limited DIY skills). Needed 2 people to build. Solid piece of furniture. Comfy to sit on. Mechanism for sofa bed is good. Not been slept on yet. Wouldn't use the underbed storage for anything too heavy as doesn't look too sturdy.5
Everything we asked forcataleteswe have not 1 but 2 friheten sofas as we were so happy with the first one.we have moved home 3 times since bought and still in perfect shape, easy to assemble and dismattle, transport and to convert sofa to bed and viceversa. Good as new after 6 years and many guests. I do recomend it 100%. Oh!and also with storage...just brilliant5
sofaLoyal customer 1I'm a little bit disappointed with the quality of the product for the price I've paid.3
Avoid!FborisVery poor quality and very uncomfortable1
4 years later and still as new!NhudI bought this 4 years ago and it was used in my living room as the main and only sofa. Since I have moved house, it is in my ‘man cave’ and has regular use as a sofa still and also a sofa bed. The quality has not diminished with use at all! The only reason for 4 stars is that it is very hard and doesn’t give a great nights sleep. But in my experience this can be said of sofa beds in general!!4
Ok to start with then collapsedJessM911This sofa was ok to start with although not very comfortable it does the job. However recently the bed part of the sofa has collapsed anytime any sort of weight is out on it which makes it unusable and I’ve only had it around a year.2
Great Idea, But Terrible Build QualityTJA0We purchased this sofa about 14 months ago and were initially really happy with it. However, the wooden support on the panel/arm rest has fallen through and has completely compromised the structure and look of the sofa. I've tried to contact Customer Services, but with the current situation, phones and online chat are shut down. Not what you'd expect from a near £500 sofa. The fittings that catch the bed underneath have also come loose and need replacing. Have never had any issues with Ikea products before, but won't be buying any larger furniture items from them again following this experience.1
My chiropractor bill has increasedOuchMyBackI spent more than double the cost of this sofa at the chiropractor. Remember that awfully uncomfortable sofa from 30 Rock? this is it.1
Short life...AmetcPerfect size and style with a great storage options. Bedding option is average. But just over a year after purchase, the all structure started to collapse. Very disappointing and certainly not a product designed strongly enough for a living room use.2
AwfulQwerty948We’ve had this sofa just over a year. After 6 months we noticed a very obvious dent in one of the seats. Just after a year the back of the sofa broke and is now crooked. At this same point the sofa bed section became very weak and started collapsing when any pressure was put on it. Don’t waste your money!1
Great at first but no good for an everyday sofanhiranoAt first glace this thing is amazing. Looks good, easy to assemble and so very functional however I can not recommend this for your daily sofa. I've had mine for under 2 years and the cushioning is almost gone. You can feel the wooden framework no matter where you sit which makes it very uncomfortable for sitting to watch a film for instance. Very disappointed with how short it lasted. With the cushioning stitched in there's no way of replacing it with new foam so I'm going to have to buy something else now.1
The worst couch everMike2449Just don’t waste your money.1
Only good for couple of yearsAdilnFoam came out from bottom , it only worked for couple of years1
NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE!DGG58We purchased this sofa just over a year ago and at first was happy with it. Over the year we have noticed that the seats were starting to sag. Today it gave way completely and the springs have come away below the foam cushion. They are only held in place with small plastic clips which are attached with staples. The sofa is only used occasionally as a casual sofa where I sit to play my guitar and listen to music. I now would like IKEA to let me know what they intend doing about it?1
Very poor quality, also gets saggy and discolouredjoanna22janWe use the sofa bed to rest on it while watching TV. When we pull out the bottom part of the mattress, it keeps moving and coming off the hinges. We tried tightening the side many times. The sofa also sinked after less than a year and also changed colour, even thought it’s not on a sun light and is in the dark corner of the room.1
Sags and deformsJayDKThis site claims that my review contains inappropriate language, although it didn't. So in short the seat cushions sag, the back cushions deform, and bits of foam is shredding every time the mattress is pulled out. You find yourself sitting on a hard bit of chipboard after a year.1
