Almost perfect. Anonymous reviewerAlso took the build option.
He built the unit and I decided that I could only fit one of the upper externally pointing shelves.
This week, a couple of years later, removing the 2nd one would be nice but shuffling, raising etc doesn’t work. Also the upper 2 wall panels don’t seem to follow any logical reasoning and fall off easily.
Whole unit is very heavy, easy to move on hard flooring, requires an undertaker team to move on carpet.4
BrilliantAnonymous reviewerJust want the Dr ordered, brilliant space. For me I have 2 monitors on desk with out any problems. Two shelves for desk top makes it work even better and you can hide the cables within the structure. One niggle maybe headphone hanger on the side rather than the back.5
Not good for large tower pc'sAnonymous reviewerI bought this product over a year ago, and for the most part it has served me well, but feel I should say a couple of things regarding practicality on this. This desk gathers dust really bad, and not practical for anyone with a large tower gaming pc to fit under desk, especially for those with buttons/usb ports on the top of your case, as you may struggle to access these. I would advise Ikea to change this design, to make the desk slightly taller to accommodate for larger pc cases, as i feel this is a large oversight not taken into consideration of this desk design. Sadly, i will be swapping out this desk for something more practical. 2
Great desk for working from homeAnonymous reviewerGreat desk for working from home, especially if you have multi-screens. Printer and any paper trays can be put on the top shelf. It would have benefited from having a drawer.
Quite solid and relatively easy to put together. I put it together myself, although it says 2 people but this could be because its heavy.5
Teenage son loves it!Anonymous reviewerThe perfect gaming desk for a teenager. He put it together himself too and though it took some time, the instructions were easy to follow.5

Very nice deskAnonymous reviewerEasy to make and nice to use5
Fredde Desk Shelves too shortAnonymous reviewerThe desk is fantastic and does a great job however, i find the shelves on either side are too short, and i need longer shelves to position my Speakers on an angle rather than straight on..... does anyone know if this is possible? 4
coolest desk everAnonymous reviewermakes me feel like a supervillain i fw it heavy5
Great deskAnonymous reviewerEasy to build and looks great. My son is very happy with this in his room 5
Side metal piece has a design flowAnonymous reviewerI recently purchased the FREDDE computer desk from IKEA, and while it has a lot of great features, there is a significant design flaw that needs immediate attention. The side metal piece keeps popping off at the slightest touch or when moving anything on the desk. This is incredibly frustrating and impacts the overall stability and usability of the desk. It's clearly a design fault that should be addressed as soon as possible. Until this issue is resolved, I cannot recommend the FREDDE desk to others. I bought this particular desk for those metal sides so I can use magnetic tools etc on it but it already fallen few times and actually damaged my other items, this is something should be addressed ASAP. Didn't expect such thing from IKEA!1
ExcellentAnonymous reviewerThe table is great for organising my gaming setup5
Love it!Anonymous reviewerFits brilliantly and has a shelf, surface for all gaming needs!5
It’s a really good computerAnonymous reviewerIt’s a really good computer desk lots is space and really sturdy 💯5
Good but not perfectAnonymous reviewerThis is a good gaming desk, but like many products which claim to be designed especially for gaming, it’s not 100% perfect.
1. The lower shelves at the side won’t fit the average midi ATX case. Width and length yes, but height will not leave enough headroom for top cooling. I didn’t fit the right hand shelf but put it on the floor with my pc on top.
2. Not designed for monitor arms. No way to add an arm to the desk proper, but just about possible on the lower shelf if one uses something to spread the load and your monitor is not too heavy. I used black steel monitor mount strengthening plates, and it just about works with a 27” monitor which weight 6.5kg.
3. Cup holders - oddly sized. Too small and too shallow imho. If you drink mugs of tea then they won’t fit, nor will many tea cups. A stemmed wine glass or certain straight pint glasses work, but meh.
4. metal support bar under front of desk reduces space. I don’t think this desk is high enough tbh, but the metal strut underneath gets in the way.
5. Metal side panels aren’t really fixed to the body of the desk. The slightest nudge and they rattle or come off.
6. Not enough size detail on the Ikea site. It’s difficult to work out in advance what will fit on the various shelves.
7. The fitting of the shelves across the back of the desk is extremely fiddly and the metal brackets are extremely annoying to use.
Overall it is a good desk and for the price it’s good value. I’m glad I have it, but it needs to be tweaked to achieve 100% imho.4
