Safety and compliance
The cover has a lightfastness level of 6 (the ability to resist colour fading) on a scale of 1 to 8. According to industry standards, a lightfastness level of 4 or higher is suitable for home use.This cover’s ability to resist abrasion has been tested to handle 55,000 cycles. 15,000 cycles or more is suitable for furniture used every day at home. Over 30,000 cycles means a good ability to resist abrasion.

It's Very Pretty, However can't Hide from Dirt... Solution "Scotch Guard"Anonymous reviewerPurchased for my parent's home to replace the previous cover (deep forest green). This cover breathed new life into this sofa. However, Their grandkids and visitors are the problem as the colour is prone to showing stains or dirty hands. It became a task for them to keep clean despite nobody eating or drinking whilst sitting on it.
To help my parents out, I purchased two spray cans of Scotch Guard and applied the treatment to every inch of the covers. Overall, it seems to have done the trick of becoming stain-resistant and providing my folks peace of mind to continue to enjoy their gorgeous cream-coloured sofa. However, I think some sort of improved stain-resistant fabric or coating should be used and supplied by Ikea.
