Reviews
Easy to assembleAnonymous reviewerIt is easy to assemble once you get the parts in order & start with the part which is labelled '1' on it. My husband struggled to start with but I had seen this advice on a review. Once advice followed took him just over 5mins.
Easy to assemble and looks good.Anonymous reviewerEasy to assemble and looks good on the wall full of toys.
Poor QualityAnonymous reviewerI don’t normally leave reviews but I had to after this.
The actual design of this product is nice to see in person but is let down by drill holes not properly aligned, one was even flipped the wrong way around making it impossible to slot the piece on with the others. Whoever’s in charge of the quality assurance of this product needs to re-evaluate what they are doing.
Eket Anonymous reviewerPiece at the back of compartment badly made and had to get a replacement
Great piece of furniture just follow the instructions!Anonymous reviewerI almost didn't buy these units after reading the reviews but I'm so glad I did. The units are so easy to assemble it took me around half an hour - just read the instructions and start with the correct piece! Great for storing vinyl records and a nice alternative to Kallax!
5 out of 6 were as expected, but the sixth was poorly made and required adjustmentAnonymous reviewerI bought 4 of these, having two already. 5 were perfect and easily constructed. The fourth was not accurately cut and the corners did not fit well. The finished product was barely adequate, and remained wobbly. It was made serviceable by bracing each corner with angled plates I bought elsewhere and attached myself.
Difficult to finish assembly Anonymous reviewerThe last piece to slot in is almost impossible, I bought 4 of these and each was just as difficult as the last. Would not recommend
DreadfulAnonymous reviewerDreadful piece of furniture, impossible to get the final few bits to slot in, and extremely flimsy when complete. Will try to return it, and switch for something else.
Do not buy this. Terrible assembly process
Lovely piece of furniture but difficult to buildAnonymous reviewerI love the furniture itself, really nice piece in a lovely colour/wood finish, and I like that it’s a bit slimmer around the edges than Kallax, however as other people have commented, extremely difficult to build (and we normally have no issue with Ikea furniture). The theory/process is simple enough, but the pieces do NOT want to slot together, it was extremely stiff and we struggled even with two adults putting their whole body weight on each corner of the pieces that we were trying to fix together. We were jumping on it, hammering it, and still struggling, so prepare for a workout if you want this in your home!
Eket assembly Anonymous reviewerThe design looks fab but fitting them together is a nightmare. I am pretty good at assembling ikea flat pack furniture but this product line just doesn’t want to slot together properly. Kallax is far easier to assemble and so I will be returning the Eket items in exchange for Kallax
Excellent for VinylAnonymous reviewerThe instructions are pretty clear and it works if followed exactly in order. So not for idiots! It is just a shame that the original bases with legs are not available otherwise I would buy more to match. They were also sturdier than the current offering
Absolute junkAnonymous reviewerAwful piece of garbage. Poor quality materials, terrible instructions a complete waste of time and money. Avoid at all costs....mine is now out with the rubbish. A chunk of my life I will never get back
Awful, just awfulAnonymous reviewerHands down the WORST assembly system for a piece of furniture I’ve ever tried to use. Nothing fitted together properly despite following the instructions to the letter. Even with 3 of us, we still can’t get it to fit properly. Why have you changed the assembly method? Everyone knows where they are with a screwdriver. I’ve now wasted nearly £100 for a piece of furniture that I cannot assemble properly, let alone use. For anyone thinking of buying this range, don’t. It’s not worth the money. Very flimsy, poor quality compared to past IKEA furniture, had to leave 1 star, as it’s the lowest rating available. Best avoided if you possibly can. And with so many poor reviews, don’t just pass this onto your production team, or whoever you might pass this on to, stop making this assembly method. It’s awful.
Easy on the eye. Poor design.Anonymous reviewerPretty enough to look at but this is simply a poorly designed product. Not at all easy to put together (just to clarify, I’m far from a novice at both building my own and putting flat pack furniture together). I’ve had two of these for quite some time now (maybe a year or two) and within two to three months they have both developed a substantial wobble. The feet are level and don’t wobble but with the smallest amount of push, each unit leans from side to side. If I had the option, I’d ask for my money back but put simply I absolutely would not buy these again. Although I will salvage and repurpose the feet when I get rid of these inevitably far before their time should have been up.
Easier to break than put together unfortunatelyAnonymous reviewerThe instructions weren't as complicated as other IKEA products, but I did mess up once. Whilst trying to remove the piece, I managed to break part of it. I don't think furniture should be easier to break than it is to put together/disassemble, especially when just using your hands. Managed to break again whilst attempting to disassemble the whole thing. I'm a 21 yr old female who doesn't work out, so I'm going to say this isn't my fault and rather it's poorly made and designed badly as well.
Useful storage, but not great qualityAnonymous reviewerI returned my first Eket cabinet as it had a few large chips around one corner. The replacement had a large dint on one of the front edges. Had to assemble upside down, so it was hidden on the floor. Quite disappointing considering the price. However, my combination of Eket storage fits perfectly under my stairs and works really well.
PerfectAnonymous reviewerEasy to assemble and the perfect size for storing files.
Looks alright if you don’t mind some asymmetryAnonymous reviewerVery difficult to put together - I had to almost jump on the pieces to get them to sit in place. Ended up having to use a mallet on the read of the product to put it together. Got a 2mum ridge on one side. Looks ok aside from the fact it’s wonky.
The bad reviews are correctAnonymous reviewerBought 2 of these simple looking units and attempted to put together. Utter garbage - physically impossible to fit together. After 30 mins and having to use increasing amounts of force and a heavy rubber mallet both units ended up snapped and broken and are now in the garden awaiting next bin day. £90 + delivery down the drain. Garbage.
EKET cubeAnonymous reviewerHaving read some of the negative reviews I just wanted to add that the unit I've just assembled was very easy to do without tools in under 5 minutes. You need a solid surface to press the sections together as carpet does make the job a little difficult. Just make sure to get the correct pieces in place as shown in the instructions and no hammers should be needed.
