Reviews

Near Purrfect SeatVerified ReviewerI was looking for a small stool/seat for my office to act as additional seating. This DOMSTEN stool was perfect. I love the light wood seat material and the ease of assembly. I love purple, so I couldn't go past the lovely lilac purple version. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was the seat top I got had an ugly dark burl in the wood. This annoyed me until I used a Sharpie marker to change the burl into a cat face. 🐱 I purchased a SKRUVSTA office chair around the same time as the DOMSTEN stool. Interestingly, I've discovered over the last few weeks that the DOMSTEN stool is handier for me to sit at my desk with when working. Thus the SKRUVSTA chair has become my "chill out" computer chair and the DOMSTEN my regular work chair! Bottom line: Excellent, well priced seat that is a recommended product for anyone who is in need of extra seating that doesn't take up too much space.4

Designer thoughts

It was love at first sight when Ingvar Kamprad saw a wooden chair in 1964 by a designer named Karin Mobring. With an eye for materials and a talent for designing comfortable furniture, she became the first female designer at IKEA. An example of her many years of work is the stackable JERRY stool, which was presented in our 1973 catalogue. In the Nytillverkad collection it is back with new colours under the name DOMSTEN. A true icon, just like its creator.
