Excellent work bench but assembly is tortureAnonymous reviewerThe work bench is super sturdy and even a bit stylish, I love it.
But I really wish Ikea would reconsider the assembly process for this item especially if putting it together by oneself. It helps to have something to prop up the table legs while you assemble.
I think the designer(s) either lack common sense or want to torture people. They should watch customers struggle with it! It's not easy to hold together the hardware and legs at the same time, and also not easy to align them. Super painful to try to see if all parts align at any angle.

The shelves are solid and good storage.
Relatively easy to put together. I did find it easier with my 13 year old son who held parts in position.

I'm a single woman, but actually didn't find them that hard to put together, despite other users' experiences. I LOVE them! they are very sturdy, but wonderfully utilitarian. Only complaint is that the tops are made out of pretty soft and unsealed wood. I sealed the wood tops to make them water and grease proof - which I do recommend for making them more durable and longer lasting. Overall very happy with this purchase, and I think they work great as both storage and worktop spaces.
