Temporarily Turn off ICloud Private Relay if setting up in Apple HomeKit!Anonymous reviewerThese Remote switches connect to Apple HomeKit directly using matter if you have a HomePod mini or Latest Apple TV 4K without needing an additional hub.
I initially struggled to get them to connect, HomeKit would see them but the set up timed out trying to connect.
To get them working I turned off my iCloud private relay and 5ghz on my router, then they connected and set up straight away.
Great value for £3 each!.

HopelessAnonymous reviewerI have a pretty large IKEA setup, thought these switches would be a good idea given the old type eat button batteries and these take 2AAAs. I've spent hours trying to get them to work with no joy - turned lights off three times, on once, now dead as a doornail again. Shame, as the QR setup works be so easy,.. probably. If it worked. If take them back if it was worth my time to drive there.

Works but only if you have a not-Google Thread border routerAnonymous reviewerAs of Jan-26 Google doesn't support switches through Matter. So while this is great value and works, hence the rating, you'll need a thread border router from a less lazy company than Google - a device like Apple TV or Home Assistant, or the IKEA hub. Perhaps one day, Google will try to be less appalling: I assume they're too busy "working" on one of their useless AI "products".
Amazing Value - Easy to SetupAnonymous reviewer£3 for a HomeKit switch that has 6 functions. Amazing value. I have an Apple TV 4K which is thread enabled, so pairing was as simple as scanning the QR code on the back in HomeKit and it was there.
Initially I was disappointed that each click could only turn on or off and not toggle, but with HomeKit Shortcuts, that was solved within about 5 minutes. I now have a single click to turn on and off one set of lights and a double click for another set.
For just £3 this is a fantastic product and I'll be buying more. Well done IKEA for such a bargain.

And that gets you a button with Matter over Thread, that works flawlessly in Apple Home without the need for a separate hub/bridge, and 6 different programmable actions. Honestly could not ask for more. Previous buttons I were using cost £30+ each, so this is an incredible steal!
Of course long term usage, reliability and durability are still to be tested, but at £3, I honestly am not worried at all. What a genuinely fantastic product!
Great smart switch, incredibly affordableAnonymous reviewerI bought one of each of the newly introduced Matter devices to evaluate them. This is the absolute star of the bunch.
Connecting to Apple HomeKit was very straightforward. The instructions tell you to scan the QR code in the leaflet. Just remember that you have to do that directly within the Home app. Don’t be fooled by the other QR code which links to the instructions. You need to scan the unique code on a printed label.
The switch was easy to set up and is working flawlessly. At this price, I’ll be going back for more as they are so versatile.
I also appreciate that it uses AAA batteries rather than button cells. I can always find ( or borrow ) a couple of AAA cells, but button cells come in many sizes and you might not have the correct one to hand.

I’m using it directly in Apple Home. It paired instantly to my Apple TV 4K (Thread Border Router) without issue. It shows as two buttons with six actions (single, double, and long press). The click is solid and consistent, and it has been reliable, maintaining a stable connection to my Thread network.
At £3, this is outstanding value. Native Matter over Thread, instant responsiveness, and seamless Apple Home integration make this feel like a product from a much higher price bracket. After years of paying sky-high prices for HomeKit accessories, this genuinely feels unreal.
Well done, IKEA - I’ll be buying more!
