Excellent matter deviceAnonymous reviewerExcellent matter device. Connects to Alexa border router in seconds. Works straight out of the box. IKEA are leading the way. Amazing value for money5
Awesome productAnonymous reviewerWorks well. The buttons can dim and switch colours which is fantastic5
Design Defects BewareAnonymous reviewerSome of the remotes will just be dead on arrival, some will turn on but never pair with your DIRIGERA and a few actually work but with severe latency. 2/3 of mine were completely dead on arrival and the 1 that worked has severe latency issues when it can be around 6-8 seconds before a press is registered. Be wary of these devices.1
Works great with Google homeAnonymous reviewerSome older reviews say this doesn't work with Google home but it is supported now, and this device is really great value. I've set this up to control my living room lighting and it works really well. With two buttons on the remote and the option to double or single press each button, you have 4 possible automations. 5
Just worksAnonymous reviewerYou do need a thread border router e.g. Apple TV/mini or Amazon echo or as you are in Ikea the Ikea Dirigera hub5
Finally, a budget button that actually works!Anonymous reviewerI've been using the IKEA BILRESA for a bit, and for the price of a coffee, it's a total steal for Matter-over-Thread.
It finally ditches annoying coin cell batteries for two standard AAAs. It's slightly thicker, but way easier to just use rechargeables. The magnetic wall mount is a great touch—I’ve got the plate on the wall so it looks like a normal switch, but I can pop the remote off to use from the sofa whenever I want.
Performance is rock solid. Beyond the six standard actions (single, double, long press), there’s a "hidden" seventh action: the Long Press Release. Since it's on Matter, it knows exactly when you let go, which is perfect for dimming my KAJPLATS bulbs—I just hold to dim and release when it’s right. With a decent Thread mesh, the response is near-instant. Definitely worth picking up a few.5
Excellent value & functionality.Anonymous reviewerWorks great. Bought these to control Kajplats bulbs. All works well with my Google provisioned Matter over Thread infrastructure. No IKEA smart home app or IKEA hub required. Powered them up & Google Home immediately found them and guided me through the setup process. This is how simple smart home setup should be.5
Hit and MissAnonymous reviewerDifficult to connect to HomeKit, one connected, eventually 10 attempts, it works fine. The other connected , eventually 5 attempts, and then dropped out and hasn’t reconnected.3
Can't Really Go Wrong For £3Anonymous reviewerBought 4 of these to try and quite impressed. I connected them to the Matter hub in an Amazon Echo and then into Home Assistant. 3 connected to the Echo straight away but the 4th wouldn't (tried about 15 times) so just thought I had a dud. Next day decided to try once more and it connected straight away. I am using them in Home Assistant to control aquarium lights and turn the heater/filter/air pumps on and off for water changes, so I now only need to press a button to turn off/on multiple smart sockets. Lost 1 star because of the setup problem with one switch but would buy more. 4
Not fit for purposeAnonymous reviewerIkea should withdraw this product.
Worked once when paired for the first time - first press worked OK, second press took a minute to trigger a response. Three minutes later the device disappeared from the list of devices. To all intents and purposes it stopped working.
Attempted to re-pair the device.
Simply pressing the system button as per the manual does not put the unit in pairing mode, nor does it reset it. You need to hold the button down until the LED stops flashing to reset.
Having discovered that, and paired for a second time, the unit never sends any activity to the smart home system. A third reset+re-pair yielded the same result.
Despite having an LED the button has no feedback. The unit has an LED on the front, but there is no flash to indicate that the button press has been transmitted to the smart home system.1
Outrageous valueAnonymous reviewerAbsolutely rock solid. I have paired it with Apple Home, and I’ve had some trouble trying to add it to the Ikea Home app. I’ve even tried using the IKEA app first and it’s been difficult.
For the money, this is amazing and I have purchased several.5
Excellent Value For MoneyAnonymous reviewerAfter 2 weeks usage: Using these with Home Assistant and they added no problems. Used an existing popular community blueprint to make the button mapping super easy. The button actions work quickly and reliably. Love the inclusion of a magnet with adhesive for simple wall mounting when not actively used. I have one attached to the underside of a table so it's nearly out of view but easy to grab. 5
Dead on Arrival Anonymous reviewerFails to connect to hub. Multiple attempts, all usual workarounds attempted but no joy. Will return for another to see if I have better luck. Had high hopes, this being the new series of Ikea smart home kit. Looks like they might be similar to the previous generation (eg Parasoll sensors where in my experience only about 2 out of 3 worked).1
Brilliant little Matter buttonAnonymous reviewerIntegrated with Apple HomeKit with no fuss and no other ikea kit. Excellent Matter integration. I will buy more5
Doesn't workAnonymous reviewerWon't connect to Google Home which is matter enabled or to Smartthings or Smartlife. Shame as the idea is great but seems will only work with Ikea matter products1
Responsive and works well with Apple HomeKitAnonymous reviewerHave multiple of these spread across my house to perform a few combinations of actions such as turning on just the main/big light and lamps with one press and just the lamps with a double tap.
Paired directly with Apple Home with Matter over Thread.5
50/50Anonymous reviewerBought two. One works great and adds easy controllability to my existing smart home set up (controlling Hive lightbulbs via Apple Home). The second switch just would not connect at all (I followed all instructions, restarted everything, etc) so the success rate for two switches was only 50%. The switches are excellent ... if they work.4
Works as expected and good valueAnonymous reviewerI paired the remote with a Dirigera hub and was able to configure the two buttons for different actions.
The remote has a magnetic base, so it will stick to metal surfaces, but I could not find a wall mounting plate in the box. I think the dial version does have a wall mounting plate, and the packing for the button version does indicate a wall plate too. Odd.
The enclosed documentation is too small to read comfortably and has zero information about using the buttons.4
Very poor feature set with DirigeraAnonymous reviewerI upgraded my previous Ikea hub to new one thanks to reviews for this particular remote - 2 independent buttons - big and small, each with 3 functions - tap, double-tap and long press and...
After a lot of messing with Dirigera (couldn't connect to this remote before firmware upgrade), connected it and looked forward to configuring buttons...
And...
The only thing is I could make it control a light (or several lights) and it applied to both buttons - big one is on and small one is off.
It works better with all these non Ikea products, very disappointed.
If that is the only available functionality prefer old style on/off button.
If on the other hand, you have Apple of Home Assistant you will be able to enjoy all the functions.3
Works perfectlyAnonymous reviewerConnected to Apple Home without any issues. Never gone off line.5
