Reviews

Perfect Display ShelfAnonymous reviewerI've had no issues with this bookcase. It's perfect if you need something a bit deeper.5
Shelving unitAnonymous reviewerStarted off well units were fine when it came to fitting cupboards doors and drawers not so well don’t line up cupboards hard to open3
Nice bookcase. Does what it says Anonymous reviewerGood product. Been buying products from IKEA for ages now. 2nb besta unit after buying the TV stand. Stable. Reviews below about backboard being flimsy is slightly true but it's not as bad as reviews have made out. As long it's put up against a wall it's fine. Good product. Can't go wrong with the price. My one holds all hardcover book which are quite heavy so can't complain 4
Shelving unitAnonymous reviewerGood quality easy to assemble5
Backing refuses to fitAnonymous reviewerAbsolutely terrible. The backing refuses to fit no matter what position it is out in, so flimsy starts to break apart. Avoid it. 2
Worked wellAnonymous reviewerWas worried as not all reviews good, , but my son and helper did the job well. Looks good. Units cover one walk for storage.5
Fit for PurposeAnonymous reviewerOverall I'm pleased with this item. As others have mentioned, sliding the back into place is almost enough to have you tearing your hair out. After 90 minutes of struggling I tried rubbing a bar of soap on the groove and it slid in with comical ease. One part that I didn't think worked well are the clips to secure the back of the bookcase. The screws didn't bite into the plastic piece at the rear as there is no thread for them to grip, but rather a diamond shaped hole, which meant the screw and cover weren't secure and could easily be pulled out. We've removed them, though it has left two visible holes at the top corner of the bookcase. I added a cupboard door to the bottom, which looks good from afar, but up close you can see that there is a significant gap between the edge of the shelf and the back of the cupboard door. I used the online build tool and ordered from there so hadn't realised this prior to buying.4
Bad experienceAnonymous reviewerThis was the worst thing I've ever brought, was not stable kept falling apart in the end i gave up total waist of money ended up being thrown in the Skip would definitely not buy again1
Sturdy and slickAnonymous reviewerNicely proportioned and easy to assemble, like the fact it's not totally black-black as the slight brown tone adds some warmth, whilst still appearing as black furniture.5
AmazingAnonymous reviewerVery easy to put together and it’s gorgeous piece. I’ve screwed two together and I’m in love!5
Difficult to assemble Anonymous reviewerIt was tricky to assemble. The back is like heavy cardboard bent in 2, which has to be open and slid into each side which we found impossible. We managed in the end but it was a real struggle. Once built it is leaning to the left. Sadly. The legs can be twisted to adjust it but I may do it at a later stage. Otherwise provides plenty of storage but I wish I had chosen something else.3
Don’t waste your money!!Anonymous reviewerI have just spent two hours trying to put this together: the backing won’t go on, it’s flimsy and wobbly and not static at all. It’s dangerous and at the moment is being held up by two chairs. Sadly, we won’t be able to het a refund as we have had it for a year in storage! Do not buy this. 1
