The old one drowned Anonymous reviewerWe've had a Barlast light in the bathroom for some years, but we had a leek from the roof and the poor thing died.
They are inexpensive, give an even, well distributed light creating a pleasant atmosphere.
Why on earth wold we replace it with anything else?
Good light for the price Anonymous reviewerIf you want a simple flush fitting light then you can't go wrong for the price. Great for smaller room or hallways. Simple to install with spring locked cable fittings inside the light. If you have multiple cables you will have to hide the rest I side the ceiling because there's only one small entry point for a lobe and neutral cable into the housing, unless you want to cut it to make it bigger. But for £5, it's great. Will be ordering a few more for other rooms
Ok for the price Anonymous reviewerI was looking for a ceiling light fitting for my porch, something simple in style and easy to fit, as I'm no electrician. I was impressed by the reviews and the price, so I decided to go for this one. This is a classic example of you get what you pay for. The wall plugs supplied for fixing to a plasterboard ceiling are woefully inadequate. I drilled a 6mm hole as per the instructions and inserted the wall plugs, but when I screwed the light fitting to the ceiling, the plugs provided no grip whatsoever and disappeared into the space above the plasterboard ceiling 🤦🏼♀️ luckily, I had some Ikea Trixig wall plugs and used those. They worked perfectly with the screws that were supplied with the light fitting. I can't say I'm entirely happy with not having the earth wire attached, but it's adequate. I don't think I'll be buying another one of these lights when this one dies, but it's OK for now. Like a lot of Ikea electricals, the energy efficiency rating is not very impressive (F)

Barlast ceiling lightAnonymous reviewerLooks quite tidy and very good value.
Very GoodAnonymous reviewerVery easy to install and very good price
Bargain, do not be put off by the cheap priceAnonymous reviewer£5! Looks great and was easy to fit. Should have ordered another at that price. Bulb included too!
Great ceiling lightAnonymous reviewerBright light. Simple design and dead easy to install. Excellent value for money.
Easy to affixAnonymous reviewerI like these lights. They are all plastic, but are exactly what we needed, easy to affix and very bright. The no tool needed wire connectors are brilliant but the instructions could be clearer on how to use them. There is no room in the fitting for any extra wiring etc.
So cheap looks good onto ceiling what's not to likeAnonymous reviewerSome might question if this light unit is any good at this low price. I have just fitted this light unit to a small downstairs toilet. Originally, the toilet had a single LED bulb 5.5w 470lm, this light unit provides 910lm so it is ample enough to replace the single bulb setup. The light unit takes a live and neutral wires only, you will need to wrap up the earth wire if you have one. 3 holes into the plasterboard ceiling to secure the light unit (plugs and screws provided). The wire terminals are a push type connectors. It's looks easy with the push connections but it was fiddly when the light unit is up in the ceiling. The light shade itself is made of a semi flexible plastic material. The whole light unit doesn't look much whilst in your hand but once fitted onto the ceiling it looks the part.
Mobile PC TowerAnonymous reviewerPerfect for keeping PC off the floor and mobile
Great for the priceAnonymous reviewerOnce fitted it is a smart little light, giving off enough warm white light to illuminate a decent size bathroom.
The fitting is easy and though the plastic is very thin, it doesn't notice when it's on the ceiling.
Make sure you look at the small diagram for where to unlock the dome, otherwise it's easy to break the lugs off.....
As long as you're careful, then it's no problem.
No recess for connectionsAnonymous reviewerLike most ceiling light connections my ensuite fitting has been used as to feed other lights. The cables come though a small hole drilled in a piece of wood above the plasterboard. I cannot get the connectors through the hole and there is no cavity to store them at the back of the light
Perfect and modern at a fraction of the leading brandsAnonymous reviewerIt was amazing, treasure-of-a-find that shouts modern and sheek. It blended to the the modern feel of our new home. It is bright and easy to install. We can always count on Ikea to fill our home with wonders of their useful and actually wonderful products.
LED Ceiling LightAnonymous reviewerExcellent product for the price. I have bought many of them
Barlast ceiling lightAnonymous reviewerThis light (once it's fitted), looks surprisingly more expensive than it is, . I fitted it in a small downstairs toilet ( on the ceiling ) and the amount of light it produces is more than enough. The light is warm, bright and very evenly distributed. The supplied fixings are totally unsuitable for plasterboard walls and ceilings, so I used my own rawlplugs which are designed specifically for plasterboard. I found it very easy to attach the wires, due to the 'quick fit' press down tabs that accept the live and neutral wires. An absolute bargain at £7. I wish I had discovered it earlier as I would have fitted one in my main bathroom as well.
Stairs lightAnonymous reviewerThe light is just what we wanted but was difficult to put up, on top of a ladder at the top of the stairs! Took a while to sort out the logistics
