That chair was comfortable and with all the mechanisms working to the very end, but the fabric on the armrests had become frayed and it is not really possible to reupholster it. So onto this chair. It looks good. Smells good too. It is widely adjustable and really comfortable. I would have liked an option with chromed metal (yes, I know it would have been more expensive) but the tan leather and black combination looks contemporary and suits the design well. Like its predecessor, I can drop it at the end of a session and slide it under my desk. Highly recommended.5
    Esthetically pleasing but not too practical.Anonymous reviewerDon't like to give bad reviews, if you are after a chair just for the odd email or letter maybe this chair will suffice. Looks great but the seat that looks full of thick padding/foam, isn't and goes flat leaving your sitting bones pressing in to the hard base material. Conversely the back rest is super firm and will make for a sore back over extended use. Ive had problems securing the backrest at certain heights also, it has a tendency to wiggle from side to side as you move,no matter how firmly you secure it with the adjusting knob. Ive actually had to stop using it as I feel quite injured after an hours use.2

Building it required a little bit of organisation and a clear head but all went well. The assembled chair looks contemporary and slightly retro at the same time and has a good depth of padding. It’s comfortable to sit in with a good amount of foam on the seat. I’m pleased with my purchase and so is my son, although he would probably review it simply by saying “yeah, it’s good.“ But that’s sons for you.5

    Nice little chair, stupid wheel lock 'safety' feature Anonymous reviewerI got this chair in October and so far it has been serving me well, it's fairly comfy and the only minor issues I've had with it is that I am quite tall so it would have been nice to be able to raise the backrest a little higher, and that one of the little 'buttons' sewn into the seat has become slightly loose. A major issue for me is the 'safety' wheel locking, I live in a rental flat that is unfortunately fully lined with a plush carpet, the chair is difficult enough to roll around on with me sitting on it and the lock disengaged, but with no one on it and the locks engaged it is infuriating to move the chair as I have to forcefully drag it across the carpet and it will oftentimes just fall over as a result. Really wish Ikea had the option of wheels without this silly feature, and perhaps more carpet friendly wheel options too4

I use it daily, but it should not have deteriorated so quickly. Additionally, the noises are horrendous, creaking every time I sit back. For such an expensive item, I expected better.2
