What can I do if I have received an item I didn't order?

If you receive a product you did not order, first check whether it's an extra item or if something from your original order is also missing. If items are missing, contact IKEA Customer Service in-store or online, and a co-worker will assist you with returning the incorrect items and getting the missing ones. If you've received extra items, verify on the purchase invoice whether you've been charged, then contact IKEA Customer Service for guidance on how to proceed.

If you've received one or more items that you did not order, please look through everything you've received to see if these items have been delivered to you in addition to what you ordered, or if some items that you did order are also missing. Please note that some IKEA products consist of multiple items.

 Additional ITEMS received

If you've received your full order and have also received some additional items along with it, check your purchase invoice to see if these extra items have been mentioned there. If you've been charged for these additional items, then you can return the item and get a refund:
  • Contact IKEA customer service online. Contact IKEA customer service by typing "received wrong item" in the chat. We will discuss your options for returning the additional goods and how we will refund the purchase price to your original payment method used for the purchase.
  • Visit an IKEA store. You can contact customer service at your nearest IKEA store. On our website you will find all the Locations and their opening hours. Please note that planning studios and pick up points are not full stores and therefore do not take back items. In the store, go directly to the customer service desk, which is usually located near the exit, with the additional item and your invoice. A co-worker will help you return the excess items and issue a refund to your original payment method.

 Wrong products received and ordered products are missing

If the products you ordered are missing and the wrong goods have been delivered, you have the following options:
  • Visit an IKEA store. You can contact customer service at your nearest IKEA store. On our website you will find all Locations and their opening hours. Please note that planning studios and pick up points are no full IKEA stores and therefore do not take back items. In the store, go directly to the customer service desk, which is usually located near the exit, together with the additional item and your receipt or invoice. A co-worker will take back the wrong article and replace it with the right one. If the product is out of stock in the store or you can't transport it home yourself, they will arrange a home delivery for you. If you were unable to transport the incorrectly delivered products to the store, they will also organise a pick-up for you.
  • Contact IKEA customer service online. Contact IKEA customer service by typing "received wrong item" in the chat. We will arrange a home delivery of the missing items for you - and if necessary also a pick-up of the incorrectly delivered products.
