Can I return my IKEA product?
If a product does not meet your expectations, you can return many items to IKEA thanks to the 365-day return policy. The prerequisite is that the products are unused, undamaged and clean. It is not a problem if the packaging has already been opened or the item has already been assembled. The original packaging is not required for the return.
Requirements for a return:
- The product was purchased from IKEA Germany online or in an IKEA store.
- The item is unused, undamaged and clean.
- You can provide valid proof of purchase, such as a receipt, delivery note, invoice, or order confirmation.
- Returns are made within 365 days of purchase.
Please note the exceptions to the right of return:
Some products are excluded from the 365-day return policy. These include:
- Cropped goods
- Green plants
- Items from the IKEA Second Chance Market
To return your product:
You can drop off your return at any IKEA store in Germany, regardless of which store or online you bought the item from.

Please note that returns are not possible at IKEA planning studios and pick-up locations.
When will you receive your refund?
Once your return has been received and processed by IKEA, or an order has been cancelled, the refund will be issued.
- Processing begins after receipt of the return or cancellation.
- After that, it usually takes up to7 banking daysuntil the amount appears in your account.
- The current status of your refund can be viewed in your IKEA profile.
