Traditional styling 101: Consistency and details

Getting the look right in the traditional style is all about the details: the sofa’s rounded shape, piping and turned legs, the cabinet’s panelled doors, the design of the lamps. Repetition strengthens the look too: two sofas, two coffee tables, multiple cabinets – all in the same classic style.

The more (coffee tables and benches), the merrier

Here, we combined multiple coffee tables and a bench – in different shapes and textures – to create visual balance and of course, added function. The bench can be used as an extra surface, a place to prop your feet up, or an extra seat when needed.

Create a charming hobby area in your living room

Placing the sofa in the middle of the room creates space for a hobby area at the back. Note that the rustic design of the table and industrial-style chair strengthens the farmhouse look. A bonus: the desk cleverly hides the radiator without blocking it.

            Display in an enchanting way

Artwork, hobbies, collections and all the things you love. Here’s a way to display them all with elegance – maximalism done in a quiet way. Using frames and ledges in the same colour and displaying items behind glass doors make the overall look restrained and calm. Spotlights and lamps add an artistic touch.

A place for everything and everyone you love

This is for sure a place full of things, furniture, artwork and more – but it all works wondrously in a calm way. Consistency in choosing furniture in the traditional style and a restrained colour palette used throughout the room – grey, white and black – help keep the look together.
