IKEA Physical and Digital Gift Card, Merchandise return card and Promotional Card Terms and Conditions
The following IKEA Gift Card, Merchandise Return Cards, and Promotional Card Terms and Conditions (referred to as the “Agreement”) describe the terms and conditions that apply to use of any physical or digital IKEA Gift Cards, Merchandise Return Cards, and Promotional Cards (collectively, “Cards”). This Agreement is between you and IKEA. By purchasing, accepting, or using your Card, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree with this Agreement, do not purchase, use, or accept the Card. About Your Card The IKEA Gift Card is issued by IKEA Belgium NV. Customers may purchase either a physical or a digital gift card. Balance Inquiry You can check your balance in any IKEA store. The balance provided during a balance enquiry is only an estimate. In most cases, the balance is updated immediately when a purchase is made, but there may occasionally be a delay before the balance adjustment is reflected. Cards cannot be reloaded with additional credit. Expiration/Fees Digital Gift Cards do not expire. No inactivity fees or service fees apply to any card. However, IKEA reserves the right to refuse a card in the event of a disputed credit card transaction, a returned cheque, or any other payment failure. Redemption Your card may only be used to purchase goods, services, food, and beverages at participating IKEA locations. Additional restrictions may apply to promotional cards. Cards have no cash value and may not be redeemed for cash (except where required by law) or used to purchase another card. No Refunds No refunds are permitted for the purchase of Gift Cards; all sales are final. Risk of Loss, Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Cards The value of lost, damaged, or stolen cards will not be replaced. You are responsible for protecting your card against unauthorized use. Ownership of and risk of loss for cards passes to the purchaser upon electronic delivery of the card to the purchaser or designated recipient, upon delivery to the carrier, or at the time of purchase or redemption during in-person transactions, as applicable. Cards must be obtained from IKEA or an authorized third party. Resale Prohibited You may not sell a card or otherwise exchange it for value. However, you may transfer a card free of charge to another person (for example, as a gift). Purchase of the IKEA Gift Card The digital IKEA Gift Card is available only through a distance contract. IKEA reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or request additional information regarding the purchase, reload, activation, or use of a Gift Card where reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, security reasons, compliance with applicable laws, sanctions regulations, or obligations relating to the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing. IKEA Gift Cards may not be resold without IKEA's prior written consent. When purchasing a digital Gift Card through a distance contract, the Customer will receive the Gift Card by email immediately after payment. The digital Gift Card purchased through a distance contract is automatically activated upon successful payment. The Customer may reload the digital Gift Card multiple times up to a maximum amount of EUR 2,500. When purchasing a digital Gift Card through a distance contract, the Customer expressly agrees to the immediate delivery of the digital Gift Card. The Customer acknowledges that, as a result, the right of withdrawal is lost once delivery of the digital Gift Card has begun. Use of the IKEA Gift Card IKEA Gift Cards purchased in Belgium are valid only for purchases in IKEA stores located in Belgium and through the website IKEA.be. Customers wishing to purchase an IKEA Gift Card in another country should consult the applicable terms and conditions of that country beforehand, as the terms of use, validity, and acceptance of Gift Cards may vary from country to country. Upon presentation of the digital Gift Card, the purchase amount will be deducted from the Gift Card balance and applied toward the total purchase price. The Gift Card cannot be redeemed for cash. Any remaining balance will not be paid out in cash. If the value of the Gift Card is less than the total purchase amount, the Customer must pay the difference. If the value of the Gift Card exceeds the total purchase amount, the remaining balance will stay on the Gift Card. The digital Gift Card may be used by scanning the QR code at IKEA store checkouts or by entering the Gift Card number in the designated field for purchases made through distance contracts. Except in cases of intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or a legal obligation on the part of IKEA, IKEA shall not be liable for the loss, theft, damage, or unauthorized use of a physical or digital Gift Card after it has been delivered to the Customer. 12. Fraud/Violation of Terms IKEA reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or deactivate a card if IKEA suspects that the card was obtained fraudulently, used in violation of these Terms, or used in breach of applicable law or other applicable IKEA terms and conditions. IKEA is not responsible for and accepts no liability to you for any unlawful acts or fraud committed by a third party in connection with a card.
