Play KitchenJacquelineSturdy and so cute5
What happened to labelsBaileeThis kitchen is so cute, my son is very excited for it, putting it together a few parts were chipped, and ikea doesn’t label parts anymore?? Spent the majority of time figuring out which piece it was talking about. 4
The babies love it!PatriciaBoth babies like coming into the playroom and going straight to the kitchen. Very sturdy and easy to assemble.5
I really wanted to love itEricaThere is NO COUNTER SPACE, kids literally have no room to actually do anything on the counter. When they place a pan/pot on the stove it also completely covers up the burner light, so that kinda takes away from the illusion. There also isn't a fridge, so storage is pretty difficult. The drawers are also kinda deep and dark, so we are actually buying sensor lights for inside of it. The exposed plywood edges have random dark spots also giving it the appearance of being stained/dirty. It would have been nice for them to veneer the edges too vs leaving them raw. The little hanging hooks also pull off, it would be better to have them as closed hooks that you put on while building so kids aren't constantly pulling them off. We personally just took them off. It was exhausting putting them back on the pole daily and searching for them all. What I do like about this kitchen is the height. It is pretty hard to find a play kitchen this tall.3
toddlers first kitchenMeganThis did take awhile to put together but it wasn’t as bad as what people are saying. It also seems pretty sturdy/good quality. Our daughter is almost 2 and is really enjoying it!5
Grandkids Love It!KevinNew kitchen is a big hit with our grandchildren! Perfect addition for our new family room and allowing the grandkids to use their imagination! Easy to assemble!5
BeautifulBarbaraThis play kitchen is beautiful. The size is very nice. My 13 month old son loves his kitchen!5
Great play kitchenCharleneMy granddaughter loves it.5
Cute, but!D.My toddler girl loves this kitchen. It’s a decent size for her… I’m rating it a 3 star because it is a pain to assemble! I had to box it up and hire help. Furniture assembly is normally something I can do; it’s calming, but this set made me scratch my head. lol3
Fabulous Play KitchenTinaGot this for my 2 1/2 year old Granddaughter for Christmas. She hasn’t stopped playing with it. Very well constructed!5
Genuinely torture JudahI recently bought this item, and as much as the looks are cute, the building part was a laborious and arduous task. The fact you need to hammer a piece of plastic into the countertop is so unnecessary and one way to break your damn back. ALSO there is no lettering or numbers indicating which piece is which so good luck! All in all I say put this one back on the shelf until they fix the hammering issue and slap a few numbers on the wood. It’s not even cute anymore 2
Cute productBethBox was damaged upon arrival and it’s for Christmas so it wasn’t opened. Hope it’s ok 🫤2
Regret buying itJuliaI don't like how it looks. It looks cheap and is mostly wood, not white. I regret buying it. I wish I would spend a bit more and buy a pretty white kitchen with more features. Boring and not nice looking.2
Perfect sizeJeffreyKids get right into it perfect size5
Excruciating to put togetherErinThis is the worst ikea set to put together1
A favorite for 7 yearsMahrianaThis play kitchen has been one of the best investments we have made for our kids. It has an unmatched simple yet stylish, practical yet inspiring, and sturdy design. Besides the light up stove top, which did give out rather quickly, there aren’t any other bells and whistles, which might be a no go for some. Every time I ask our kids who are now 7.5 and 6.5, whether we should donate their play kitchen, the answer is “no, thank you!” This kitchen is versatile, as it can be turned around. They’ve played kitchen, lemonade stand, restaurant, ice cream shop, pet store, etc. They’ve been inspired by this kitchen to make their own ice cream toppings, store signs, and other custom items out of construction paper and craft materials. We have so many fond memories. Over the years, I’ve added different play sets and pieces and was inspired by another mom to use an IKEA cabinet as a perfect accompanying play fridge. I’m hopeful that IKEA will make a scaled up version for older kids!5
Sturdy kitchenMaryAssembling this kitchen is easy It feels so sturdy for my grandson to play with for years to come!5
Not easy to assemble, but worth itKatherineI bought this for my 5-year-old grandson who loves to cook with me in my kitchen. He’s been very happy with it & plays with it a lot. I’m very pleased that the leg height can be adjusted for taller/older kids. The overall look is simple & effective for growing imaginations.5
Nice SizeCourtneyThis kitchen is taller than most play kitchens. It is made to last. My children love the layout and simplicity of the design. 5

Function solution

Role playing – a playful way to develop

Mimicking parents and other adults through role playing is a way for the child to process impressions and understand their surroundings. Putting a soft toy to bed, building a road, cooking in the toy kitchen and serving dinner is so much more than fun play. It also helps the child develop their social, cognitive and motor skills. There’s is so much to learn!

Material

What is fibreboard?

Fiberboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fiberboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
