100x better than the Pinntorp dropleaf.Bernie The IKEA PS 2012, while using much of the same parts, is studier and easier to assemble than the Pinntorp dropleaf table. My only concern is that the legs are not balanced. The table wobbles, with no visible adjustment mechanism. 4
Good and functionalKimberlyJust put this table together and I'd recommend it. I spent a lot of time trying to see what table had the best functionality for the space and this one is very good! If one or two people want to sit at it comfortably it's totally great with the sides down. When you put the sides up, two more people can sit and nobody is ever sitting there trying to move around a leg or a big table section that hangs down. It's a good design. Looks nice and it's functional! The sides move up and down easily. 5
Great for little spaceBobNew smaller home needed new smaller dining table. 5
Perfect little table CarolThis stylish little table is perfect for small spaces, and is super handy when you need to add a bit more seating or work space. My only wish is that they offered the base in black.5
Great table!KarenIt’s the perfect size for our space! It’s solid and sturdy. It was easy to put together, it only takes one person.5
great tableJessicaGreat small dining table for our family. Wasn't out on display at our local store, and was disappointed to hear it's being discontinued.5
great little table...but...JanisThe table itself is great. It's sturdy and looks great. It's awesome that it takes up little space when the leaves are down, BUT, the leaves don't go down with the Ogden chairs. Be aware and careful of your chair height if you want to be able to put down the leaves when not seating 4. This is also def. too small to seat 6 comfortably.4

Pretty table, easy to put togetherAnonymousI've owned a number of things from Ikea over the years and this was by far the easiest to put together, and looks lovely. Clean and simple lines, perfect for smaller spaces.5
Love this tableAnonymous reviewerThis is a great table, and so beautiful. It's the perfect size for my kitchen and with the two folding leaves it can be expanded when necessary. And did I mention it's beautiful?5
AaronGreat value for money. I would buy again5
Love itNancyBought this a few weeks ago. Looks great in my breakfast room.4
Great for small apartmentsAllisonI bought this table to fit a small nook in our apartment and it fits perfectly with 2 chairs on either side when the leaves are down. We also have the flexibility of raising the leaves when we have more people over. When we were assembling it, the table ended up a little wobbly which is disappointing for something new but nothing we couldn't get over.4
Love itAnnaThe table looks great in the living dining area. We needed a table for a small space and this is perfect. It was easy to put together, it took one person about 15 mins to put together.5
Compact tableAnonymous reviewerGreat little table. It fits just right in our eat in kitchen.5
Metal Dust ParticlesAnonymousI just assembled this table, and while it's a great design and very nice looking, all of the metal pieces were flaking little shards and particles of metal everywhere, which seems like a health hazard. My hands were coated in silver just a few minutes into the job, and miniscule metal particles were all over the table. It also has a formaldehyde smell, probably from the glue for the bamboo. The look and functionality of the table is otherwise perfect. So if metal powder and formaldehyde don't bother you, it might be a good choice.1
Perfect for small spacesAnonymousI love this table so much. Just the right size for my small LA apartment. very easy to put together myself.5

Enjoy the warmth and beauty of renewable bamboo

With fold-down leaves, our IKEA PS 2012 table is made from fast-growing, long-lasting bamboo with removable aluminum legs. It is designed to be separable, making it easier for recycling (if available in your community).

Material

What is bamboo?

Strong, flexible and one of the world's fastest growing plants – bamboo has many uses that make it an excellent renewable material. It’s a type of grass and usually grows without the need for fertilizers or irrigation. After being harvested, it grows new shoots that are ready for harvesting after 4-6 years. At IKEA, we use bamboo for items like furniture, bathroom decor, baskets and lamps – and we are constantly exploring more areas of use for this versatile material.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"Functional furniture in hardwood, like teak, was modern in the 1950s. I wanted to find a design that was related to the style of the '50s, but use materials that are much better for the environment. Bamboo is a material that grows quickly, and when it's layer-glued it becomes extremely hard and durable. Plus, it resembles teak. IKEA PS 2012 dining table is a table that flirts with '50s design, but is produced with concern for the future."
