All new materials have their own particular smell, which gradually disappears. Airing and vacuuming the rug will help to eliminate the smell.

The rug is machine-woven.

You will need 2 STOPP FILT rug underlay with anti-slip (165x235 cm) for this rug. Trim if necessary.

To get the edge of your rug to lie flat without curling up, fold the edge in the opposite direction and place a heavy object on top for 2 days.

Do not wash.

Do not bleach.

Do not tumble dry.

Do not iron.

Do not dryclean.

Vacuum and rotate the rug regularly.

Dry spots; remove immediately by scraping carefully towards the middle of the spot.

Wet spots; do not rub. Absorb with paper towels, damp with cloth and mild detergent.

Professional carpet cleaning when needed.

Impossible to cleanAnonymous reviewerBought this rug to go under the table in our kitchen/diner, not dissimilar to the photo in the listing. I have small kids. Within a week, the rug was full of food. I tried to vacuum it daily, but food gets embedded in the fibers. Despite using a vacuum without a spinning brush (had to buy a new attachment just for this rug), there are lots of bits sticking out. The rug is less than two months old, and we have to chuck it and buy another. Complete waste of money.1

Material

What is jute?

Jute is a very hardwearing fibre that is found in the stem of the jute plant. It’s an easy-to-grow plant that requires very little fertiliser, pesticides or water and is ready to harvest after only 120 days. The jute fibre is often used for ropes and sacks but is also known for its silky-smooth lustre and can be spun into finer threads which are then woven. In our range we often use woven jute for items like curtains, rugs and furniture.
