Working together in our community
Drop off your recyclables at IKEA Long Island
Together we can work to protect our environment and minimize what is sent to our Long Island landfills. Drop off your bottles, cans, paper, batteries, and bulbs at the community recycling area inside the store near Customer Service. You can also drop off clean, recyclable cardboard in the bins along the customer loading area in the front of the store.
IKEA Long Island in the Community
Being a good neighbor and demonstrating commitment to our local community is an essential part of who we are at IKEA. Our priority is to take an active hands-on approach to serving the needs of our community by creating impactful actions that will be a part of real lasting change. As a company that deeply cares about people and the planet, we are guided by a simple yet powerful IKEA vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people. We partner with local charitable organizations to help them better serve their communities. It's our way of striving to be a good neighbor and giving back to the community that supports us. Here are some of the ways we work with the local community:
- We have a year-round collection bin that benefits Island Harvest, Long Island's leading hunger relief organization. Non-perishable food, pet supplies, household items, baby essentials, and toiletries are accepted. Please refrain from including glass, clothing, or expired food. Located just past our checkout lanes near the Swedish Food Market.
- Toy collection during the holidays that benefits John Theissen Children's Foundation, a local non-profit that collects toys for sick and underprivileged children throughout the holiday season. New toys, books, and games are accepted. Located just past our checkout lanes near the Bistro.
