Working together in our community
Drop off your recyclables at IKEA Long Island
Together we can work to protect our environment and minimize what is sent to our Long Island landfills. Drop off your bottles, cans, paper, batteries, and bulbs at the community recycling area inside the store near Customer Service. You can also drop off clean, recyclable cardboard in the bins along the customer loading area in the front of the store.
IKEA Long Island in the Community
Being a good neighbor starts at home
At IKEA Long Island, we believe that being part of a community means showing up, lending a hand, and making a real difference. It’s not just something we talk about, it’s part of who we are.
Guided by our vision “to create a better everyday life for the many people,” we’re proud to partner with local organizations that care for our neighbors, our planet, and our shared future. Together, we’re taking small, meaningful steps that add up to lasting change.
Here are just a few ways we’re working with our community:
- Island Harvest Collection Bin (year-round)
We’re helping fight hunger on Long Island by collecting donations for Island Harvest, the region’s leading hunger relief organization. You can drop off non-perishable food, pet supplies, household items, baby essentials, and toiletries in our collection bin located just past the checkout lanes near the Swedish Food Market. (Please no glass, clothing, or expired food.) - Holiday Toy Drive for John Theissen Children’s Foundation
Each holiday season, we collect new toys, books, and games for John Theissen Children’s Foundation, a local nonprofit that brings smiles to sick and underprivileged children across Long Island. You’ll find the collection bin near the Bistro, just past the checkout lanes. - Supporting the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless (LICH)
We’re proud to partner with LICH to help create a more dignified, supportive, and comfortable shopping experience for those they serve.
Together, we can make our community a better place, one good deed!
