French press coffee

Ingredients:

2 tbsp. PÅTÅR coffee
4 cups of water, just below boiling (about 200°F / 93°C)

A glass/stainless steel UPPHETTA coffee/tea maker in the kitchen

Step by step:

  1. Bring your water to a boil. However, don’t pour it too soon. Ideally, water temperature for French press coffee should be 195–200°F.
  2. Preheat your carafe by pouring boiling hot water into it.
  3. Grind coffee beans to a coarse or medium-coarse grind.
  4. Measure your coffee. You will need about one heaping tablespoon of ground coffee for each cup of coffee that you want to drink. If you prefer stronger coffee, use a bit more grounds, but if you like it weaker, it’s okay to use a bit less.
  5. Empty the water used for warming and add the coffee grounds to the carafe. Pour the hot water to your coffee press and stir to ensure even saturation.
  6. Place the lid (with the plunger pulled up) on the French press coffee maker to help keep in the heat. Wait 4 minutes for the coffee to brew. Then slowly press the plunger all the way down to filter the grounds out of the coffee.
  7. Pour and enjoy!
