Worst purchase I ever madeLynnThis sofa sleeper is not a well executed design. I am average height. If I sit so my back touches the cushions, my feet can not touch the floor. It is VERY firm. It also has a forward tilt. Nobody here wants to sit on it. My daughter says it reminds her of the most uncomfortable seats on public transportation. We have 2 other IKEA sofas and several chairs. None of them have these problems. If you are thinking of buying this, I urge you to go to the store and try it first. I was so hopeful that it could be a good sofa and a spare bed when needed. It is NOT a good sofa. I would return it if I could.

Beyond firmNormanPro: Easy assembly, well made, easy to convert to bed, great under-cushion storage, durable slipcover, comfortable for sleep
Con: overy firm for couch lounging, very upright seating position.4
Great sofa, poor cover choicesAndreiWe have a newborn, so I often find myself sleeping on this sofa. It's pretty comfortable. I like the storage. My only issue with this sleeper sofa is that cover options are not great. My favorite cover of all of Ikea is Nordvalla Dark Gray, which is not available for this sofa, and none of the covers come close to the quality of Nordvalla Dark Gray covers that are available for STRANDMON, EKTORP, etc..4
Great couch, slightly awkward bedDirkVery happy with this as a couch; have tested it as a bed but not yet slept a full night on it.
It is on the firmer side both as a couch and a bed; I like it but if you are looking for pillow-soft cushions, you’ll want something else.
As a bed, you are sleeping on the back and seat, folded flat, rather than a separate mattress. In my opinion this is much better than the thin folded up thing in other sofa beds. Also takes up much less additional floor space when unfolded.
It winds up like 1” wider than a standard full-size, plus the hinges at the back interfere with getting the fitted sheets on. Be prepared to do a bit of stretching and pulling.
Recommend a mattress pad to help cover over the line between the two halves of the sleeping area. 4
One Small ProblemCathyThe sofa looks very nice and is really easy to convert to a bed. The seat/bed is quite firm, so I have a mattress topper rolled up in the storage compartment underneath. The problem is the way the cover is designed, there is a gap in the lower back where you can see the inner structure of the sofa. My sofa cannot be against a wall. I have contacted ikea about this and they have sent me another cover, which I will “rebuild.” I’ll take the skirt off and sew it back on in the correct place. 4
It is too hard to sleep on it or seat as wellYelyAfter we assembled it it was a part that was defective on the frame and it is to hard to seat or sleep2
Very practical couchChristyI love how big and easy this couch is to put in and out of a bed. I love the storage underneath the couch and removable covers. I've had this for over 2 years with kids and it has hosted many 4 kid sleepovers, movie nights, and my middle of the night insomnia episodes. I put it together mostly by myself, just needed a second person to attach the back, and I am not very handy. The couch is pretty firm at first, but it is softer now on the side that gets sat on every day, but not too soft. I love that the seat is all one piece so you are not getting crumbs or losing the remote in the cushions. So far I washed 1 cushion cover in the washer and spot cleaned the bottom cushion and it has held up pretty well. The back fabric is faded quite a bit from the sun over the years but we have it in front of a big window. Note that all 3 cushions do not fit into the storage area, only 2. 5
Love the Firm Seating and MattressLushanI have been searching for a sturdy seating sofa for a long time. I have used expensive brands, but they just like sinking in when you sit on them. This sofa has the right firmness for me and not too deep seating and upright back rest. I wish I could have found them earlier.5
