No screws, easy other than thatAndrewI understand why screws aren’t included, but I feel that wasn’t clearly communicated. There also could be clearer instructions on which screws to purchase for your particular mounting and living situation. I also needed to use a youtube video to figure out installation, but the one by “mimzy & company” was plenty informative. Now that it is installed, it looks good and the curtains slide easily.4
Perfect Curtain Track System!EvanI absolutely love the VIDGA Single Track! It was super easy to install, and the quality is fantastic. The track glides smoothly, feels sturdy, and gives my curtains a clean, modern look. I also love that it’s flexible—you can customize the length and set it up exactly how you want. If you’re looking for a simple, reliable, and great-looking curtain track system, the VIDGA Single Track is definitely worth it! Im Florida Fam Five! I made a YouTube video on how to install this!5
Overall nice systemCheriThis was the first time installing this system and there were moments of frustration more so on the user end. Make sure to put the hooks on the panels with the slider first then slide those into the track system. Don’t miss one otherwise you have to slide the panel out of the track just to fix the mistake. Overall I would still recommend. Opening and closing the drapes is a breeze5
Ugh - worst instructions everCandaceIf the instructions were clear I would have gave a 5. Trying to figure out the instructions is like looking at a foreign language. I thought I was going to have to just trash these because I had no clue what the instructions was saying to do and I’m GREAT with assembling things. Go on YouTube and find Florida Fam Five…..Ikea Vidga Track: The Affordable Solution to Fancy Curtains video. He’s literal a life saver. Ikea video instructions suck!! Make sure to read the description. You may need to purchase some parts separately. Luckily, I did get everything I needed when ordering the first time. However, I still had to go to the hardware store for screws which is insane. I feel like most of the parts are cheap — mostly plastic besides the track itself. I’m hoping they last but we shall see. It’s been about a month and so far so good.3
Sags from curtain weight so rails don't line upRuthConnectors are too weak. Connection sags from (light) curtain weight so rails don't line up when trying to draw curtains. Makes it extremely difficult & time-consuming to draw curtains.3
Everyone Who’s Struggling Read ThisKateOk IKEA definitely got this wrong - this system is by no means simple or easy to install if you do not have a logic based brain and an understanding of intermediate assembly processes. HOWEVER!! I am here to report that this system IS in fact INGENIOUS once you figure it out. You want to connect multiple rods together? Easy - use the long pointy thing needed to connect the wall bracket to join the joints (including corner pieces). You will need to secure both rods, the joint, and their ends to the wall or ceiling to ensure it stays together. You want to cut it? Do not use a hack saw as recommended, go get yourself a multi tool and cut that thing in 30 seconds. Even if it’s not a clean cut, it’ll work. I have put these in two rooms, including one with corner systems and they are AWESOME! You got this, go slow, think like a Swedish tinkerer and I promise it will work out. 5
Easy to installKathleenInstalled and in operation in less than 30 minutes. 5
Selling a product that isn’t completeTaylorFound out the ceiling bracket isn’t sold with the set, so went to find one and I can’t find any on their site. What’s the point of buying this product if you don’t sell the needed parts to use it1
Great ceiling curtain trackCitlalliGreat quality and durable. Easy to install 5
The rails do not properly connect, don’t buy. AnastasiaExpensive, time consuming, poorly designed. I tried hanging from ceiling, and used a laser level to ensure straight lines. The attachment to ceiling was cheap but worked well and was novel. However the tracks are so cheaply made/shipped that they don't really line up with eachother and the little bit of difference cause the “sliders” to get stuck when moving to next track. The curtain slides don’t really work, the connection track piece is especially terrible, you have to force the curtain across so the flimsy curtain “hook” comes unhooked, and therefore the curtains take some cajoling to get across the breaks of track (especially if they’re on the ceiling). The paper instructions are terrible, luckily I had asked someone in the store for pointers beforehand but I wish he had warned me away. I wasted so many hours trying to install this - it should not be advertised as possible for ceiling use.1
Missing Parts?Anonymous reviewerWe set this up, but discovered that there are no carrier pieces for the curtain hooks. WE tried to work around it, but you can't order the track hooks themselves separately. Seems like a cool product but missing essential pieces.2
PerfectLoidaIt was all i need to cover my entire closet. Im very happy with it5
I'm hoping Ikea learns from thisAnonymousI purchased a Vidga rail system 3 yrs ago and was not aware it was a discontinued item. So after 3 mos, the rather flimsy circular clips that allow you to hang your panel broke (cracked), so often staring at a panel that was at a 45° angle. Unfortunately, I was unable to replace the clips. This was because they were all sold out after that particular vidga design was discontinued. I can only guess that half of the customers whose tiny clips broke went back and got whatever was left. By the time I discovered this and ventured back to Ikea to get some spare parts, they were sold out. It's been a good concept but often a poorly manufactured design who's clips are made out of cheap plastic. I just wish they would put a little more effort into it because visually it's a pleasing and easy to assemble setup - it just doesn't last however. I'm constantly fixing my hanging panels because the clips are broken and my teenage kids brush against them. No way to fix them. ..Super glue?2
vidga railWendythe rail system works well though the connectors do break when we try to connect two rails together4
Stop changing the designAnonymous reviewerThe Vidga has been redesigned so many times using different hanging tools from the ceiling making it impossible for you to build and add on to a system. While I appreciate your commitment to quality improvement, pay more attention to getting it right the first time. Otherwise what you are doing is adding a lot of frustration and cost to your buyers as you change the various parts for installation. A lot of us move and are renters and this reminds me of other collections that you advertise as modular but then change then for example on a modular couch you change all the fabrics making you buy all new fabrics rather than just adding on. If you were committed to sustainability you would not keep rotating fabrics and parts because what you are actually doing is forcing unnecessary purchases. At minimum you should keep a stock of recently (1-2 years) phased out items and parts so people do not buy something with a plan of adding onto it only to have to start all over again. 2
Frustrated and Disappointed JamesAfter purchasing 2 curtain panels I was told by an IKEA employee that i would also need a I purchase the Vidga track to hang the panels which only comes in one length. The employee told me I could cut in half but didn’t tell me that the track only comes with one set of mounting screws and parts and they don’t sell extra parts. This is absolutely crazy and I don’t know what to do. I’d really like to make this work1
Quality construct, very functional DuannaVery functional, high quality construct. 5
PerfectScottI was a bit nervous based on other reviews unsatisfied with performance of connecting multiple tracks together, but it's working perfectly for me. The curtains slide smoothly over the joints and installation was pretty darn simple.5
Track joining does not work.EleonoraYes, it looks good and it’s ‘easy’ to instal, however connecting tracks for large windows doesn’t work; the gliders get stuck at the join and the curtain falls out when trying to move. 2
Window treatment trackSheilaI love this. Easy to install and uninstall. Very good window system 5

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"When mounting curtain rails myself, I’ve often thought about how it could be made simpler. So when I got the chance to create VIDGA curtain rail system, I knew what I wanted to do. The new system needed to look good, and be as easy to understand as to mount with just a few tools. And I am very pleased with the outcome! I’m sure you’ll like the end result, when all your curtains or panel curtains are in place."
