The shelf unit is easy to fix in place or remove as needed since it has screw mounts.
The screw mounts have a soft surface that protects the top of the table from scratches and pressure marks.

IKEA, I will be re-designing your instructions manualAngelinaThis is the BEST little shelf my desk has ever seen, I am currently geeking looking at it, it has engineered a new organization space and given air to my workspace. However, the instructions manual may be THE MOST worst engineered piece I have ever seen from IKEA, and you can trust me on this because I am Swedish, assembling is part of my DNA. Never have I used so many positions to assemble a product. IKEA, what happened? I will be sending a new version of this manual, what's your email?
Almost perfect, one design flawTarunGreat shelf, bought two, may buy a couple more. The L bracket that goes inside the post needs a spacer or tab to keep it from flopping around so that that the outside bracket and screw can be secured. I rolled some of the packing cardboard and taped it to the L bracket to make it work.
Super functional but awkward to assemble MeganThis works exactly how I wanted it to, vertical storage on my desk that’s renter friendly (no holes in wall). Also super nice that if I decide to change where I put it, I can adjust if it’s in the middle or left/right depending on the direction. Only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because it was super awkward to try to put together the clamping pieces at the bottom :/

Love this clamp on shelf!!SueThis clamp on shelf lets me move it around my crafting table to where I need it most when working on different projects. It takes up almost no space on my crafting surface, but keeps my supplies close at hand. Just love it!
Heads up: Only clips on to thin desktopsMary AnnThe bracket is too shallow to fit on to any but the thinnest desktop, but there is no mention of these limits on the website. In fact, in one photo it looks like it’s on a thicker traditional wood desk, but it’s not possible. Too bad. It’s a great piece.
Not wide enoughAnnaBought this as an organizer for our standing desk. Unfortunately not wide enough so check that before ordering. Doesn't open very much, would need a very thin desk ledge. It is also difficult to assemble.

A little tricky to assembleAmyThe shelf works great. It was a little tricky to attach the table brackets and L brackets.
I only installed the bottom shelf upside down, so I could have a flat surface. I then placed my Epson projector on the shelf to use for projector sewing.
Good idea but should fit the Ikea desk but don't HopeDid not fit my Ikea desk top really disappointed, really good product and idea is perfect but the product should be made wide enough to clamp on all Ikea desk tops 😒
Easy to assemble?! DebraIt sure looked easy. Just a couple of screws. I have never been beaten by an IKEA product but this one almost won🥴. There was absolutely no way to get 2 parts to stay close enough together to get such a short screw through both holes. Finally used some double stick tape and it still took me over an hour.😖😵💫. And I bought two!!!😩
I do love it now that’s done. I’m an artist and they keep my paints close at hand without taking up table space

Versatile assembly of shelves and great look!ReginaI attached these to my Lanespelare TV/monitor shelves, which worked out great because my desk did not have a deep enough lip to install the clamps to hold the shelves to the desk. Very easy to put together and very modern. Though it was more expensive than I wanted to pay, it was on sale so it worked out.

Great idea but could be betterJean-ChristopheNice little storage fixture that helps declutter the desk. Some cable management system would make it perfect for making it a charging station. Holes in the trays are to small for charging cables to pass through. Otherwise it's sturdy enough for storing desk ustencils and decorations.
