Frosted layer scratchesDaveLove the lamp but the frosted layer on the glass tubes scratch easily - just cutting off the zip ties in the packaging scratched them :-(2
If you follow the instructions, installation is easy!LoraLOVE our new light. I was nervous buying it because a couple reviews complained about difficult installation. Well it's not! The base plate has a hook you attach the light to so you do not need to hold it at all while you wire. It holds itself! And you certainly don't need a second person to assist. Then you click it into place and hang the U shaped pendants last so they are not in the way at all while you work. If you follow the instructions, this is actually one of the easiest chandeliers you'll ever install. The only thing I wish it had is the ability to control the brightness via a dimmer switch. Hope Ikea adds this in the future5
Great lamp, but the install falls short of expectations.DanielDesign Like others have stated the lamp looks great once installed. I think it has more of a dramatic effect if you can hang the lamps lower than higher. Installation Issues 1. The lamp doesn't include any additional hardware. No screws, no anchors nothing. This wouldn't be an issue, but the mounting plate requires a third hole in you ceiling outside of the junction box. 2. The installation is not suitable for 1 person. Make sure you have an extra person to help you hold the heavy base while you wire. This could be fixed if the included wire were longer. But as is, it is impossible to hang the base off the mount as the instructions depict. 3. The mount does not hold the base flush do the ceiling on one side. There is no support clip there so it lists to one side. May need some small caulking to clean up.3

Beautiful Light, Terrible InstallationHarrisonLet me just say -- now that the light is installed, it's amazing. But... to get to this point was a week of trials and tribulations. I've installed many Ikea pendants in my time, but getting the mounting plate installed took several attempts due to its unfortunate size and requirement to be anchored into the ceiling with a tertiary screw that doesn't go straight into the junction box. The instructions depict long, clearly marked live and neutral wires; the reality is that you get zip cord and not very much of it at all; because of this, you need a third hand to hold the base while wiring the fixture. Once all is installed, though, phenomenal light.3
