Too thinDelisaBought both sizes. This one lasted two weeks. I have no idea how it developed a crack.2
Too thinDelisaMy purchase lasted a week. Placing utensils in the cup while in the sink caused it to break.2
Numbers removedOksanaArrived with faded numbers. Then, I got a replacement which looked good until I had to remove the sticker which took off the numbers…So I now have two of these without some numbers.2
Arrived with faded numbersOksanaArrived with already faded numbering on the top and a sticker that is impossible to peel off without leaving residue.2
Beyond classicDe'RendaI like the look of the measuring cup. Clear readable measurements on the glass. Love the fact that it the number are not displayed in “Red”! Much better looking. Thanks for this new style.5
PitcherSueI’m using it to fill my coffee pot, it helps with the number so I can make sure I have the right amount of water5
Far too fragile!KimberlyI loved this at first. I had two of them and used them constantly. Then one day while stacking dirty dishes, set a fork in one. It broke a hole in the bottom. Yesterday while washing dishes, a light bump against another dish broke the second one. I won't be getting another.2
Looks great but…SallyLooks great but glass too thin to survive the most minor of bumps. This came to me shattered in a million pieces. Each shard smaller than the next.1
LightweightStephanieThis measuring cup is perfect for those who struggle with holding heavy items. The cup is very lightweight5
I'm lost without it!Anonymous reviewerDespite looking fragile, I purchased one of these a few years ago, knowing I would be the only one in our household to use it... and I take good care of my stuff. Well, it became the vessel I measured and mixed our weekly family Sunday morning Dutch Babies in. I'm not sure if it was the shape, or that it allowed me to measure and mix all in one, but they always came out perfectly. Then, our dishwasher broke, and my husband was trying to help by washing some dishes by hand. He broke it (we lost a lot of dishes during those 3 weeks without a dishwasher). My Dutch Baby game went into the toilette. They were flat, or too thick, etc. I have been looking to replace the measuring cup, but they were not available thru Ikea and anywhere else, they were twice or even three times as much. I am so happy Ikea has them back in stock and I can get back to making my weekend Dutch Babies... just be careful and hand wash it yourself, it's worth it!! 5
Breaks easily into shardsJenniferI've purchased two, both broke. I am fairly gentle with my kitchen items, but this glass should be able to handle more everyday use without breaking so easily.2
Good measuring cupAnonymous reviewerSturdy 5
Too fragile JulieThe first one I ordered got shattered in shipment. I did receive one unbroken but it feels too fragile to hold the fluid it says it will hold. I’m afraid to use it as intended. 4

VARDAGEN Measuring cup, glass, 34 oz

Designing for the tastes of people around the world

Do you sometimes cook dishes from other cultures? Then you’re part of an international trend called transculturalism. It basically means that global cooking and eating habits are a lot more similar than you may think. How can we cater for this trend? We designed the VARDAGEN series with products that can be used in multiple ways. In Swedish, VARDAGEN means “every day”, which is just how the products are meant to be used, no matter where you live.

“Consumers have access to cultural diversity in cooking and eating from all over the world,” explains Ina Tidbeck Sjöblom, who helped create the products. “They want to taste the best of all cultures, which means that it’s not only in Asia that we need eating products for sushi.”

Creating products for all our differences (and similarities)

The VARDAGEN products are designed to turn differences into similarities. Like the eggcup. “We did it in a shape that it’s more like a very small dip bowl,” explains Ina. “So it’s also for Asian eating, you know the bowl where you put chili paste and other condiments.” Another bowl has just the right size and shape to be a rice bowl in Asia, but it can also be used as a side-salad or cereal bowl.

Answering the global demand for durability

VARDAGEN is uniquely suited to the global market—catering to the different needs of eaters. One thing people all over the world seem to agree on is the importance of durability. “We know from all the studies and research we do that people don’t want to buy and throw away things, they want to buy something that lasts,” says Ina. That’s why VARDAGEN is made from durable and sustainable materials, like glass, porcelain and stainless steel. That means, just like the name VARDAGEN suggests, they’ll be useful every day for many days to come.
