Horrible craftsmanship BrandiSitting on my bedroom floor at almost 2Am because I can't build my frame because the holes were drilled into the head board side about a half inch too high so the sides won't attach. Thought maybe it was my fault and I was putting it on backwards, but I triple checked and asked a friend and it's the way it's supposed to go. Really awful, do not buy. I can't get a truck to bring it back to the store either so now I'm just out 300 bucks ):1

Just what we neededCherylWe bought this bedframe to replace one that was solid wood but about 23 years old and had seen better days. I also wanted a lower profile as we have an aging dog who was experiencing trouble jumping up on the old bed. Was a little worried as I bought it sight unseen, but could not be more happy. It's a perfect neutral green, very sturdy (my husband is nicknamed Shrek for a reason, LOL) and I love no longer having a huge footboard. It's comfortable and we're able to use our old SleepNumber mattress just fine. I have it set on the lowest setting which I may change but I haven't had the urge to do so just yet. I put it together alone easily; asked for my husband's help to hold them frame up only once to get proper positioning. Did not take long at all to assemble even with lots of screws. 5

It was relatively easy to set up and has a nice height off the ground. I'm impressed with how padded the backboard is, too. You can lean against it without feeling like you're going to break it and it's comfortable enough without a pillow. We've only had the bed/frame for three months but I suspect it will last a while.5

Misplaced drill holesKatherineWe were excited to get this bed and signed up for alerts to be notified when it would be back in stock. We picked up our frame today and started assembling, only to notice that on one of the bed-sides the holes that hold the bracket & leg were placed too high. The bracket was not level with the bottom of the bedside, thus the leg could not be screwed on, and the entire bed would be wobbly as that side would be a different height. We took our defective piece back to Ikea, and the staff initially was helpful and replaced the part. Unfortunately, we got home and realized they had given us the left side of the bed, not the right (so, a duplicate). When my husband went back to remedy this, staff said "we can't open another box". They eventually did, only to find out that the box was missing the correct part and had a totally wrong piece inside. If Ikea can send us the correctly made bed-side piece then I think we may love this bed. But right now, we're feeling pretty frustrated.1
High quality bed for the priceCarolineThis bed is really well designed and easy to put together. It can almost be done by yourself, though it does require two people towards the end to hold the sides up (unless you are very nimble). I have a mix of IKEA and higher-priced furniture and can say with confidence that once together, it’s as solid and attractive as beds that are twice the price - especially if, as others have suggested, you replace the legs. The oak legs sold by IKEA look beautiful. My one complaint is there is off-gassing and it may be too much for those who are chemically-sensitive or have asthma. I have had the bed for four months and while it has improved, there is still an odor. I have bought IKEA products, including soft items like sofas and beds, for 30 years (really!) and I have never experienced any off-gassing until now. Typically there were slipcovers in the past and this item is upholstered, so that may be he difference, or it could be production changes - just something to be aware of.4

Not At All SatisfiedRumanaPurchased this bed frame to have a soft and safe bedroom environment for our toddler. The fabric lining of the bed frame is so poorly made that it is falling apart, and I have to pick up tiny shreds of it from all over the mattress every day when making the bed, it has been a chronic problem since I bought it 3 months ago, and has not improved. I will never purchase this bed frame from IKEA again. Based on the lack of quality control, it appears their goal is that the product looks nice superficially, which is sad because I bought a king size mattress, which was a significant investment.1

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.
