Enjoy the super comfy UPPLAND sofa with embracing feel and deep seat cushions made of pocket springs, high resilience foam and polyester fibers, adding both firm support and relaxing softness.
Reversible back cushions provide soft support for your back and two different sides to wear. Thanks to the combination of polyester fibers and cut foam the cushions will retain their shape and comfort year after year.
The cover is easy to keep clean since it is removable and can be machine washed.

Over 30,000 cycles means a good ability to resist abrasion.

A pretty great sofa for MDF materialsAmyI am very impress IKEA, from packaging, to delivering. I don't know why reviews are low on this sofa. If the couch is to last 10 years, it should be firm. I thought it was going to be firm from all the other reviews but it is not. The sofa is firm, has a good bounce to it, and all the cushion makes it comfy. I purchased a lot of cabinets and storage stuff from everywhere before with MDF materials and IKEA has some very good quality MDF. Other MDF materials is not rounded off. You can see some particles sticking out and screws messing them up. With IKEA, I did not see any of that. Putting together was a breeze. It probably takes around 15 to 20 minutes. It really is a simple design. Kind of hard to put the washer and nut on for the back screw but I found an easy way. I use the nut first, thread into the screw. That way it can bring the cushion in more. Then take the nut off again, add the washer and screw. That helped. Overall I am very happy and will buy more stuff from IKEA again.
A bit too firmShelleyI like the sofa in general but it is a little too firm. I also don’t like that the slip covered cushions are not covered all the way around so you can flip the cushions, like you used to be able to with the Ektorp series.
Great sofaMHakebo green, covers fit perfectly, firm but supportive and comfortable cushions, best sofa out of all that I tried in the showroom. The Hakebo fabric is the softest, most luxurious out of the rest that they have.
Uppland is a good sofaSimoneI used to have a Ektorp, an old one made with feathers on one side and foam on the other side, and I am so very sorry that I had given it away. Should have found a way to fix that problem when the feathers started to float all over my living room, because the sofa was ripping apart. The Uppland is a good one, a bit harder, not as comfortable as feathers, of course, but decent, strong quality. I prefer the Blekinge white 100% cotton cover, and we also bought the sofa with a red and white flower cover, 100% cotton as well. I tried for the polyester rust and the color is gorgeous but it will clearly not last, it has stretch and I have two cats… so I opened and closed the box and will return. The cotton white lasts forever, I vacuum it often and wash at least once every season, so around four times a year. We have had it for about five years perhaps? But, we had the Ektorp for thirteen years and with only two covers, it was perfect! We should have restored its seats instead!
Just about perfectFrankThis sofa is very comfortable and we really appreciate the higher cushions. We especially like the washable and replaceable covers, great if you are a cat owner and you know that kitties will always look at a sofa as a potential scratching post. Assembly was typical IKEA a mix of genius and what were they thinking. I looked at a couple of YouTube videos before starting assembling and they were very helpful.
Fabric quality is lackingJuliaWe had an ektorp sofa that we loved but our dog damaged the cushions while the cover was being washed, so we needed to replace the whole sofa. The Uppland sofa has replaced the Ektorp and it is not nearly as nice. Two major flaws: 1. The seat cushions are no longer reversible- the bottom of the seat cushion is a black fabric so you can’t flip the cushion and hide a stain. And 2. The fabric is not holding up. We bought two different covers for the Uppland in April 2025 and both are showing signs of wear. We have the cover in Hillared beige and Kilanda light beige. The Kilanda has been on the sofa only once, for a couple months max, and is getting fuzzy. And since I can’t flip it, it will just get worse.

Gray/green is actually blue.JasonThe sofa itself is fine. Very comfortable. But the gray/green slipcover looks NOTHING like what's shown on the website. It does look muted green online. However, in person, it's BLUE. There's nothing green about it. I don't have a truck, so I have no way of returning it. I'll just have to buy a different slipcover.
Uppland sofaSarahThis sofa is comfortable for sitting or napping. However when I looked on Ikea to see if I could get a darker cover, the reviews on covers were very mixed. I wanted dark green or brown but there is no brown and the green covers are reported not to fit!! How does that work??
SmellBenSofa has had a sour smell to it since I got it. Figured it was just off gassing and would go away, after 3 months of owning it and washing the covers the smell still persists

Broke in less than a yearAmaliaBack cushions extremely flimsy, never filled out and folded over, seat cushions way too hard, and the arm rest simply broke away from the couch. Garbage.
Uppland perfect for home or rental property.JenniferWe recently purchased an Uppland sofa and two armchairs for a rental property and have been delighted with them. My husband said the sofa is great for napping. We have other Ikea furniture at home and I love that it is so easy to wash and/or replace the covers when necessary.
Dimensions are wrongJenniferThe seat is not 18.5” from floor to surface, it’s 21”. I’ve had several ikea couches and this is awful - hard to assemble and different from the store model.

Uppland Sofa - Kilanda light beigeKatieOk, I love the sofa itself but do not love the cover. The fabric is a little shiny and makes it look dirty all the time. I'm constantly washing it. Glad I can take everything off to wash. I guess I'll be buying a different cover at some point.
Uppland sofa as expectedMarianneI'm satisfied with the sofa, like the colour, too. I had to tip the sofa on its side to fit the cover more easily, but that went quickly.
