Great dishes at a great priceSusanI bought these dishes to replace my Lenox Rose Garden which I have had since 1998. That set served me well, not a chip, crack, or a break, but it was time for a change. I guess I'm not picky about my dishes but I want them to last. I live in an area of the country with not a lot of stores for shopping so I have no idea what else is out there that I may have fallen in love with. I saw these in my local...2 hours away...IKEA and decided they would work. The price is fabulous and was enough to seal the deal for me; I bought service for twelve. I've had them for less than two weeks but so far, so good. I would love a matching platter and some small fruit bowls would be nice. I expect that IKEA will get right on that...#smileyface... The true test for their durability will come this summer when we have a house full of families and kids using them, loading and unloading the dishwasher, etc. I expect good things and if they do not hold up as well as expected I will let you know.5

Great size and shape: not small, not big, just right to serve a salad for 4-6 people. Looks very nice on the table with other items from this set.

Material

Good at resisting knocks

Feldspar porcelain resists knocks and impact better than most other ceramics. That's why products in feldspar porcelain can be made thinner than those in stoneware or earthenware. This means that they are both light, hardwearing and dishwasher-safe. A useful combination.
