The back wall of the cabinet can be mounted to the back or middle of the cabinet if you want the cabinet to be accessible from both sides, with sliding doors on one side and open shelves on the other.

Worth the wait!LauraI had to wait a couple of months before this item was back in stock. Sign up for alerts to be notified right away, because this was how they let me know. It comes in 2 heavy boxes, so you'll want help to load it. This cabinet can be built in a couple of ways, making it flexible and functional for long term use. It's made of metal, and quite heavy. It took 2 of us to build. I like the fact I can use it on both sides, and because it's metal, I hang magnets on the side to make a third functional side. The sliding door side is more shallow if you opt for the 2 sided assembly like me. It fits reams of standard copy paper just fine if it's stored with the longer side touching the back. It holds a lot more than it looks. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Solid, good size, but arrived with QC issuesJohnnyI've had this since late 2021 when it first came out. It's worked well for me overall, but had some QC issues prior to assembly. GOOD: pretty easy to assemble overall, feels very solid, no need to anchor it to the wall, ability to use a wall as a partition or a back wall, fits more in-person than I expected. OKAY: Not sure if it's changed in the last 2 years, but I installed things in a slightly different order than the instructions to make this easier to build for me. The other thing is that bumpers on the sliding doors create a gap that's more apparent than in photos if that bothers you. BAD: There were a few dents/bends that made it harder to fit certain pieces together. The powder coat/paint was cracked in some internal areas as well. I didn't return it since it was hard to find during the pandemic.

Great looking but a little impracticalJonathanIt's a cool unit, nice and deep, but the design of the sliding doors limit the opening to around 1/3rd of the total frontage, which isn't ideal.
Coupled with the fact the doors are very hard to install if you have anything other than child arms and even harder to level, this hasn't been my favourite Ikea purchase.
Yet, I'll end up buying another.

The shelves are difficult to adjust to the right height and there are not enough of them. The doors are sdesigned poorly. You cannot access the middle third of the cabinet.

Wobbly CabinetAntonioThis cabinet looks great but there are 2 major problems. 1) The cabinet itself is wobbly, if your floor is not entirely flat, you do have to adjust the screws on the bottom of each leg to ensure the doors don't fall out. 2) With the door stoppers installed, the doors are not opening wide enough, which makes it extremely difficult to gain access to the things you have inside. The only good part about this cabinet is that it's deep enough for me to place a laser printer on top.

Nice storage with the advantageJohnNice storage with the advantage of being magnetic so it makes a good "beside the desk" cabinet. My only complaint is that the handles would be better if they came out at 90 degrees and then folded over; as it is they keep the doors from opening an extra inch.
Exactly what we needed for our basementHirutIt was pretty easy to assemble. Some parts require that you pay attention but we figured it out. It's a great fit and shelves are adjustable, but you need to decide the height while building. We bought more from the Trotten line to keep the same look and will buy another.
