Excellent Storage Solution for KidsAnneWe bought two: one descending to the right and one descending to the left; we pushed them together against a wall. Our daughters helped us select what went in each "tub drawer," and then we took pictures of each drawer's contents; laminated the photos; and Velcro'd them to each tub. The setup was very helpful; the girls knew where things were & where they went when it was time to pick-up. It was an excellent purchase for us-great looking, practical, and efficient.
The most frustrating assembly everNoreenThough this looks beautiful when finished, the cartoon directions aren't specific enough, and the grooves that the shelf tops supposedly slide into don't stay in place when trying to attach them to the main frame. What should have taken 2 hours took me 2 DAYS (with additional sanding down certain parts so they stayed put- something an ikea product NEVER requires, under normal circumstances). It's gorgeous & functional, but hire a professional to assemble this-- you'll lose your mind otherwise.
Great Look & Quality, But Bin Design Is FrustratingAnonymous reviewerI love the way the TROFAST storage looks- clean, modern, and perfect for keeping things organized. The overall quality of the wood unit is excellent and feels sturdy, which is what I’ve come to expect from IKEA.
That said, the bins are a real downside. They just don’t stay in the grooves properly. Whether they’re heavy or light, empty or full, they constantly pop out of the track. It makes it frustrating to use, especially for kids who are pulling bins in and out all the time.
I still like the unit and it serves its purpose, but the bin design needs improvement. If IKEA could fix this flaw, it would be a near-perfect storage solution.
