This product is made from polypropylene, of which at least 50% is recycled. The flexible and strong plastic material is common in our homes and is usually produced from fossil, non-renewable raw materials like oil and natural gas. Since recycled polypropylene has similar characteristics to the virgin material, we at IKEA have chosen to gradually switch to using recycled polypropylene without compromising on safety or quality.
