4 years later...AngelineI bought this in 2021. I originally bought two of the trofast that escalates but exchanged it for two of these. Our family loves it. My then 1 year old now 6 years old loves it and so do all his family and friends. Soda, juice, candy and all kinds of stuff have been spilled on it and easily clean right of no need of harsh chemicals just warm water and soap. It still looks like new. Very durable and easy to use.5
Disappointed Anonymousthe wooden pegs do not fit in the holes.1
Not happyJesseI assembled this correctly but the buns always fall out of the slots. Super frustrating. I want to return but I can't drive an hour and a half each way just to bring it to a store.1
Great quality ChristinaThe product has some weight to it. I was afraid it would be light enough to be tipped forward by a kid. Sturdy enough that I didn't have to secure it to the wall. Great quality and no trouble assembling. 5
Storage Bins collapse when inserted if heavy material is in the plastic binBeckyDifficult to assemble compared to other Ikea items I have purchased in the past.3
Perfect shelves for playroom!CateThese shelves are a perfect addition to my son’s playroom, keeping everything organized and accessible. The assembly was easy, and the quality is outstanding—sturdy, durable, and well-crafted. The sleek design fits seamlessly into the playroom, and the adjustable shelves allow me to customize the space as my son’s collection grows. Highly recommend! 5
Mid-aligned pre-drilled holesAlanThe pre-drilled holes were misaligned. I had to drill extra holes a quarter inch from the existing ones for everything to fit properly. It was not worth it for me to drive to the store to return it. Please fix this so others do not have to deal with this issue. 1
Couldn't assembleAnonymous reviewerThe holes drilled for the dowels are not lined up appropriately so we couldn't assemble this and had to return. One of the boards was also warped and would have required some force to straighten out. I've been purchasing and assembling IKEA products with ease for years now, and this was the first item to go back to the store. Bummer.1
Just a terrible waste of timeAnonymous reviewerI want to love this for my boy’s Lego storage, but as the other reviews stated the predrilled holes do not line up on the white pine shelves. I was hopeful that IKEA would have corrected this mistake after so many previous reviews stated this, but nope… still selling junk. Received in the mail and tried to assemble today, initiated return and they state so need to drive 2 hours to do an in-store return?! Nope. Shame on you IKEA1
Inconsistent Manufacturing JadeI purchased two of these and the first one fit relatively well together despite being the most difficult piece of furniture to line up compared to other ikea items I have purchased in the past. The second one did not line up as well leaving a gap at the top ridge. What was most disappointing is one of them was a solid slab on the top and bottom and the second one I purchased has a bunch of wood that was pressed together to make up the top and bottom. This makes it look really cheap and they are mismatched. I would return if I lived closer to an actual ikea. 2
Great!KristenThis Trofast is great for toy storage. It is exactly what we hoped it would be!5
a real bummerSamanthaWe use ikea products for everything, but this one was a real disappointment. We purchased this along with the wire bins just like the store display and were so excited to get it home. Setup was fine, but the bins will not slide. We got these for my young daughters to use as dressers and the bins are difficult for even me to move, so my four year old is definitely struggling.
They’re cute and look great in the space, they just aren’t functional. 1
Beautiful, but difficult to assemble ChristalWas very hard to assemble, the slabs were difficult to slide into the groves almost hat to be forces in. Beautiful final probduct just different to assemble. 3
not what it used to beMarisa We purchased this shelf years back and it is still amazing! (the line that was before the white wash). Loved it so much we purchased another one in the recent past (the one with the white wash). It is horrible; it is not the same quality at all. It doesn't hold the drawers, it is uneven, part of the wood split in the back. I would love to return it, but we are past the return date. I don't recommend it as the quality is not good.1
Not ADHD friendly 😂ScarletteI wish there were easier assembly for people with ADHD, I know it sound silly but it’s a struggle, specially with kids. But overall ikea is always great.4
Love it SolangeSame as the picture5
Doesn’t hold the drawersLauraI wanted to love this but I have two and neither one holds the drawers. The pieces are too far apart to support the drawers. Even if they’re empty, they fall down. I tried adding my own support to the back so the middle panels that are supposed to hold the drawers don’t move apart but the frame is just made wrong, too wide. I would not recommend buying these.1
Is it just me?ElisabethI was eyeing this product for quite some time. Took my time to go to ikea and buy it but unfortunately when i opened the box, one of the wood pieces were pulling apart. It appears that area was glued together but one side was splitting and seems to be separating wider. Didn’t want the hassle to return it and when assembling, a wooden piece broke off while I was tightening one of the screws….i eventually had to buy some wood glue to fix that. Some of the areas are also not smooth so I would have to sand it down to prevent splinters. I just hope it’s sturdy enough….1
Drawers fall down contantlyJenniferVery sturdy. Recommend coating the wood if you have kids around. The huge flaw is the drawers are too narrow or the slots are too wide such that the drawers simply fall down--they won't stay in their slot UNLESS you don't pull them out ever. The drawers' corners seem wide enough/sturdy enough to support the drawer but not the side walls.2
Toy StorageMeganThe plastic storage bins do not fit this shelf correctly and should be wider. The storage bins slip and fall off the tracks constantly. Wondering if the metal bins would work better but they are heavy and costly. 2
