Interior Plastic Part that holds the Suction Cup breaksWandaI have 3 sets of both the corner and rectangular Tisken Baskets. Why I am not able to only purchase the suction cups for replacement, without having to purchase a whole new set of baskets? All 6 of my baskets are fine, it's the suction cups interior plastic parts that are broken.1
Doesn’t stickEdithNo matter what I tried, these wouldn’t stay to any of my cabinets. Was so excited to get them and now very disappointed.1
Worst everAngelinaThese won’t stick in my bathroom AND they tore my wallpaper.1
LOVE THEMStellaIT WORK PERFECT.5
Unlike other Tisken products, the basket DOES NOT STICKRebeccaI have 8 Tisken products that are suctioned onto tile walls in a wet room (my bathroom) with absolutely no issue. They stay stuck for months at a time. The only time they've gotten unstuck is after 12 or 24 months, but I have been able to re-stick them, no problem. Unlike other Tisken products, this basket DOES NOT STICK. As someone who has successfully used Tisken suction cup items for years, I know what to do to make them stick. I tried to stick this one to tile--the same tile all my other Tisken products are stuck to--but no matter what I do, the darn basket comes clattering down after about 1 minute. Is it defective? Is the design poor? Is the basket too heavy? What is going on?! I want to use this basket but I can't because it's defective. Buyer beware: Even if you love the Tisken line, DO NOT buy this basket. 1
Shower caddyDebraBigger than I expected! So far the suction cups are holding all my shower toiletries.5
Work as expectedRafaelNice suction sup, work as expected5
Love itLisaWorks great--even with a shampoo pump bottle! I've been thrilled that the container didn't fall when I push down on the pump.5
Excellent ProductLuisGood materials ans perfect size.5
Love The Tisken LineMaryI have several of these on the tile walls in my small bathroom. It's important that you clean the wall with a grease cutting/alcohol based cleanser and then let it dry before installing on walls. Also, you can spray paint these with spray paint designed for plastic. Mine are hot pink, they look great, and have not faded or chipped. Despite my love for them, I have had them fall or one suction cup slip during the winter when the tile in my bathroom gets colder. I normally just remove them, clean the wall and suction cups (let air dry-lint from rags or paper towels will prevent the cups from sticking properly) then reapply. They hold a lot of things. When it's warmer outside, I even put small plants in them that like the humidity of my bathroom. 5
Works great.DonaI believe many of the negative reviews are cases of user error, or not using the product on the right wall material. I tried using it on an apartment shower wall and quickly realized it will not work because the tiles are small and the suction cups are big, causing air pockets so of course they lose suction. It will probably work fine on fiberglass or other solid surface in a shower. We are using them in the kitchen as a spice holder. It adheres to the wall perfectly. I have repositioned one a couple of times with no issue. It does take a little muscle to push the suction cup down but it shouldn’t be too hard for most people. I plan to get more to put by my boys’ bunkbeds, to hold books, flashlights, etc. Great product for apartment dwellers!5
InconsistentTalayaI have bought several products from this line. For some reason one of them will not stay secured. I have followed all instructions and it still keeps falling down. I’m really disappointed because I really like the concept. 3
DID NOT STAY UP NivesDID NOT STAY UP ON OUR TILE BATHROOM WALL SO DISAPPOINTED. DON'T UNDERSTAND NEED TO RETURN.1
Suction cups don't workAnonymous reviewerI was hoping that I would read the reviews and find out that I was missing a step, but no. It seems that this product was better quality in the past, or only works on certain types of walls. I cleaned my (glazed) shower tile with rubbing alcohol and made sure it was perfectly dry. The suction cups wouldn’t stick at all. After pushing on it as hard as I could, I walked away for a couple minutes and came back. One of the suction cups had already come loose with nothing in the basket. If I didn’t have other things to return, I would just call it a loss. It’s not worth the gas and going through the garbage to get the packaging I threw out, because I assumed something so simple had to work. I want the half hour of my life back that I spent reading the instructions and cleaning the tile and deciding on placement and using a level... Total waste of time and money.1
Great gadgetDeniceThis is an awesome gadget to help keep under sink area organized. 5
Didn’t workSusanSadly the suction cup attachment would not form a seal. We’ll be returning this on our next visit. 1
Extra stouageKarenBought 2 of these for my marble shower. The surface is very slick on walls and they attach without drilling, holders firm, and are large enough to holid everything. Can remove for easy cleaning and put back up. 5
FaultyLarenI've ordered these about a month ago because they worked for me. The 2 I recently ordered won't stick to my shower as the previous one did. They won't stick at all and fall in the shower with no weight in them. I wish I could return these, but I live a 2 hour drive away from my nearest Ikea.2
Utterly uselessDivyaThis doesn't hold to anything. I wanted to use this in the shower. I made sure the shower wall and the suction cups were clean and dry and it would not hold at all. Fell to the ground the second I removed my hands. Complete waste of money and plastic.1
College dormsJillThis basket sticks to tile or mirror. Better than any others I have tried. Holds large size shampoo bottles and doesn’t fall down. 5

Better grip for flexible storage

The movable suction cup is a smart wall mount for flexible bathroom storage. The only problem is that it can come off after a while. Suddenly you hear a thump in the bathroom, and the shampoo bottle is on the floor. So, how do you make the suction cup attach better? Product developer Kristofer Adsegård and his colleagues – responsible for TISKEN bathroom series – wanted to find out.

Kristofer and the team started by studying in detail how a suction cup works. “It attaches because there’s a vacuum between the suction cup and the surface. But, if air comes in, the vacuum breaks and plop – your hanger comes off. It can be something small, like dirt and limescale on the wall, or tiny irregularities on the tile that eventually let air in,” says Kristofer.

Rubber that seals tight

The team found the solution in a synthetic rubber that proved to be better at attaching to different surfaces and filling out any unevenness so that air can’t get in. “We tried the suction cups with the new material, both in a test lab and in peoples homes, to make sure that a stable vacuum is created and that the suction cups stay where you want them.”

The suction cup becomes like new again

To make your TISKEN bathroom series last longer, it’s important to handle the suction cups right. Kristofer explains that you shouldn’t pull the hook or other parts to make them come off, since it can damage the grip. “To release the vacuum, it’s better to use your bank card, or some other plastic card, between the suction cup and the wall. And, if you put the suction cup in water near boiling point for a few minutes, and then air dry it, it will become almost like new again.”

Bathrooms can get wet…very wet!

We know how important it is to design the right furniture for different types of bathrooms. That’s why many of our bathroom storage units and accessories are made of plastic – perfectly suited for shower/bath spaces. Choose from VESKEN, STUGVIK and BOLMEN series for a functional bathroom with extra storage – where you can bathe, shower and splash as much as you like, without worrying about exposing your furniture to too much water.

Function solution

Better grip for flexible storage

Why do suction cups come off the wall after a while? That fact made us so frustrated that we detail studied the vacuum technique. We noticed that barely visible dirt or limescale breaks the vacuum seal, even on smooth tile walls. So, for TISKEN bathroom series we looked for a new rubber material that seals better and fills out small uneven spots on the wall. Now you don’t have to wake up in the middle of the night from the sound of the shampoo bottle thumping on the floor.
