Wanted to try inductiveSarahWe want to move away from a gas stove and was wondering about an inductive stove. On a random trip to Ikea, we found the portable induction stove.
It is wonderful, for us! Our child even likes using this and wants to cook a little bit more.
The experience we have had with the portable induction stove has made our mind to get a non-portable induction stove for our kitchen at a future date.
I would recommend this product to anyone curious about an induction stove. We have only used it inside our house.
Stopped workingCaliI used it maybe once or twice and it worked great. But now when I try to use it, it just beeps loudly a few times then turns itself off.
Works but horrendous buzzingStefanieWorks well in that it heats very quickly but has a horrendous buzzing noise when in use. So bad that I returned both units. High pitched, very loud, also made the animals scatter.
Good ProductBethI already have an induction stove. We are remodeling our kitchen and I wanted an induction burner to use while our stove was out of use. This did the trick. It was a tad noisy (there is a fan that kicks on during use), but it wasn't a deal breaker. It is easy to clean.
Great appliance, not for everyoneToaiWorks very efficiently with the suitable cookware, i.e. ferromagnetic metal; does not work with other materials. Regretfully have to return it because all, but two, of my cookware are non-ferromagnetic
Great induction "starter" experience - disppointed with TILLREDA qualitySusanneTILLREDA was a great way for us to try out induction cooking at an affordable price point. It had water ready for tea in moments! It was fast and easy for food preparation. We also appreciated its portability: on hot summer days, we could take it out to the porch for cooking to avoid heating up the house. However, we, too, started unplugging the unit between uses because the cooling fan came on at random times, including hours after use. A few months after purchase, we plugged it in, experienced a spark as the plug touched the outlet, and... the plug deformed. We misunderstood the return window for opened/used items so could not exchange the unit. Sadly, our next stop for TILLREDA is the electronics recycling drop-off; we will not be re-buying this model.
Works Great - minor problemMonicaThis cooker does a great job of cooking things that are sensitive to burning --- cheese sandwiches; cream soups; etc. The first one that we bought had an intermittent problem with the cooling fan turning on by itself for no apparent reason. We exchanged for a second one and now have had the same problem with it. We bought an on/off switch for the plug, and now turn off the power after use and cool down. We are keeping it because it is convenient and useful!
Great item AvaI got one of these for me and liked it so much. I got one for my daughter. The thing heats up great quick. Cooks wonderfully and is nice just to have around if you don’t have an enough burners to cook all the food you’re trying to cook or you’re going somewhere and they don’t have a stove there but you need to cook something or heat something up I plan on using it at church when I do a meal there. Nice and lightweight but very very well-made. It’s lightweight and kind of a well-made heavy kind of way. I just really like it. I recommend it to everyone.
Works well for basic cookingTimothyIf you just need to boil water and aren't worried about precise simmer, this works well. If you need precise simmer, especially on smaller pots, good luck. Levels 1-3 are a slow pulse on then off, so you get long term average low heat but instant higher heat that can cause problems. Even on cast iron with time the heat distribution is not as even as gas.
But if you just want to make pasta, it boils nicely fast. Do make sure your pans are flat bottomed or else heat gets a bit more uneven. also seems to generate a nice circular water motion that keeps stuff like linguine from sticking, although it also does tend to tangle them more.
also watch out or lock it when not in use, an off variety of things have triggered the capacitive buttons
Great burner - a little loudEmilyThis burner works really well, but it makes a high pitch buzzing sound when it is plugged in even if it is not in use. I usually unplug it between uses to avoid the sound.

sold me on induction cook topsErikI bought this to test out how well induction tops would work for us. We’ve had it about 6 months now and it’s reliable, fast, and very safe. I can’t wait to someday replace our ancient gas stove with a full size induction top.
Great for my college student. MicheleMy daughter is a sophomore in college. She had a microwave but it just wasn’t cutting it. Microwaved burritos don’t provide much nutrition to fuel her mind and body properly. With this burner, she can make her favorite healthy meals that fuel her success. Very safe as it only heats when you have a pan resting on the burner, which is great for spacey college students. I highly recommend.

Has potential, but needs to be redesigned.RayI have been using this item for several months. I noticed that there are 9 temp levels offered, but the heat levels skyrocket after level 2. For example, level 1 is warm heat, level 2 is hot heat, and level 3 is extremely hot. I don't even use levels 4-9 as I am afraid I will burn my house down if I do. As such, these levels (4-9) are a complete waste. There should be more gradual heat changes between levels 1-9, or just less levels available to the customer in general. (i.e. levels 1-5 only) Also, if you leave your unit plugged in after use, the fans will turn on an off randomly, which is strange and burdensome, especially when you are trying to sleep.
