Approach assembly with cautionArleneIt's obvious this is a lovely looking lamp. This review is to address assembly, if you're brave enough to do it on your own (if I could, you can):
1. BE PATIENT. If you let yourself get frustrated you will rip the paper (as I did, but I was able to patch it from the inside with a small piece of packing tape).
2. Be sure you are assembling it on a HARD surface, not just a sturdy surface. At an important point you will have to press the 2 "clips" DOWN to snap them together. I was working on a folding card table, but the tiny bit of cushioning on top of the table made it hard to press them together. I moved the project to a granite counter top and was able to press down without any wobbling.
3. I found it nearly impossible to assemble the inside pieces with the paper globe pulled up to it's full size as shown in the instructions. By gently lowering the paper globe back down, it is much easier to reach inside and complete the connecting of the bamboo strips to the white plastic clips.
Missing Critical PartsLukeFirst off, missing the set screw that holds the fixture to the cord... Pretty poor QC, rendering my fixture unable to be installed at all.
This light is underwhelming to say the very least. The design is nice to give a good soft light to a room, however the overall installation process has its flaws. The assembly must be done half at the ceiling with the light partially installed and if you're mounting it nearer than 14 inches from the ceiling you have to pull the fixture wires from the ceiling to gain access to the top of the light to install tiny little screws, while trying not to let the wooden curves fall to the ground. Good luck getting 2 people up the ladder, or grow a third arm..
