I installed the Philips Hue bulbs from two floor lamps I bought these Ikea/Sonos lamps to replace so they also integrated seamlessly with my existing smart home setup. Love ‘em.

Sonos app tends to work well, but firmware updates are not always obvious. I had some issues getting the product to connect initially and then again when they were turned off, but this seems to have fixed itself.

Great lamp, fantastic speakerDamienThis new Symfonisk lamp has an atypical design, but I feel that it has a cool retro vibe to it and fits in with my other IKEA furniture. The shade has no insert and and has a see-through diamond pattern so the light diffusion is more pronounced versus the table lamp. While it is minimalistic the metal frame and bamboo give the lamp an upscale look. The soundstage is also better due to the height and not being covered by any part of the shade. While it’s a bit expensive it costs about the same as a Sonos one with a stand so overall I consider it a good investment since I plan on keeping it for a long time.

At IKEA we have a lot of knowledge about interior design and life at home, but with the SYMFONISK series, we are collaborating with Sonos, who are experts in sound experiences. “It’s a really good combination if you want to help more people enjoy streamed music and radio without speakers stealing space,” says Stjepan Begic, who has been involved in SYMFONISK collaboration since the start. “We challenge each other and find new solutions.
