Base rustsJessicaThe umbrella itself has been great BUT the piece that connects the umbrella to the base rusted. We tried to buy a new one but IKEA doesn’t make it. And because the way the base connects is specific to IKEA, you can’t use a different one. I even double checked with an IKEA employee and they confirmed, no part and no way to make this umbrella useable without it. Also, there is a note that this umbrella should only be used indoors, which is clearly not the point of a large patio umbrella held down by a heavy base, and a clear indication IKEA knows about the issue. Also, just a note, ALL these large cantilevered umbrellas use the same part, so whether you buy the exact one or not, your base WILL rust. We’re in San Diego, which means we get minimal rain and it still rusted so quickly
