Works well with Home AssistantDavidThese are great. They pair well with Home Assistent (I'm using SkyConnect and ZHA). They are inexpensive and manage to look/feel reasonably well-made. They are among the cheapest Zigbee buttons and they are really nice. I'm using then for controlling lights. My only complaint is that the long press (for the left and right buttons) is too long.
DOARogerDead on arrival. Tried multiple sets of batteries. LED on device does nothing. Will not pair. I live 2 hours from the nearest Ikea so I'm not going to be able to return it anytime soon.
Broke within a weekShannonWas initially working for the first week, and then it suddenly stopped working. It gave a red light indicating low battery (despite having new batteries), so I replaced the batteries and did a hard reset. It still gave the low battery red light.
I called customer service to help troubleshoot and they told me to reset it (which I had already told them I had already tried that). They then told me that I couldn't get the product swapped for a functional product because I don't have the receipt (it was a gift). I've been a loyal Ikea customer for years, but this experience is making me rethink that.
Steel version doesn't re-sync properlyNicholasI had the white plastic version, and "upgraded" to the stainless steel version (white feels kinda cheap to press). I've tried two units of the steel version, and on both of them the function to re-sync the light by long-pressing the left or right buttons just doesn't work. This is a bit annoying because the tradfri (multicolor) bulb I use with this sometimes gets out of sync and will skip over colors. It's also frustrating because at night I use the red/orange color before bed, and in the morning it's much easier to re-sync to return to medium white in 3sec, compared to cycling through all the colors to get back to white (pressing the button, waiting 3sec for the light to transition, repeat this like 10x). It's really an annoying glitch, and I'm not sure why only the Steel ones would have it. I'll probably go back to white.
Read this if you can't hook up to under cabinet lightsKristaThe instructions for this thing are wrong. You have to take a pin and put it in the little hole on the block first, hold it down, THEN push the button on the back of the Styrbar to pair it with under cabinet lighting. I hope that helps save you hours of aggravation. We went through THREE styrbars before we figured this out. Now it works fine.
Great little Zigbee switchMattyDimmer and color change together in a battery-powered removable switch. To me it looks acceptable when fastened next to a regular light switch. My one nit-pick is that the pictures on the remote are small and faint, making them hard to see.
It’s a Zigbee “end point” device which means it is great on batteries and “talks” directly to the paired lights, even when WiFi is down.
These switches will show up in the ikea home app if you add them to the ikea smart hub. You still have to pair each switch to a device manually the first time - that’s a ZigBee security thing - but afterwards you can re-pair and group switches directly in the app.
You can assign the dimmer to up to five lights, and you can assign multiple dimmers to the same light. I have two LED cabinet light drivers each side of my walkthrough kitchen and I put a dimmer on each end. Each dimmer controls both lights so it’s great in the dark.
Note: this switch will NOT be visible in Apple Home if linked to your ikea hub.

Won't pair, won't workBillI bought it to accompany an LED light fixture in late July '23. Has worked up until this week -- and a quick check of the batteries would confirm they are about done for. Simple fix - swap with a fresh set of NiMH (confirmed voltage with DVM). Except now it doesn't control the light. Tried re-pairing but cannot get that to work (10 seconds -- LED doesn't light up at any point, no dimming of the light fixture, etc).
DOA - Remote Won't ConnectAnonymous reviewerAfter many attempts and multiple sets of batteries, my brand new remote control won't connect to my under cabinet lighting setup. We just got our cabinets installed and can't adjust the lights at all. So dissapointing.
Problems connectingSdNo matter what, I cannot get the 2 Styrbar fixtures to connect. Which is extremely frustrating and disappointing. Got them to replace older versions that just quit working one day and won't reconnect.
Outstanding remote.ReyesWord as it should and as I expected. Highly recommend for all lightings in the house.
The great thing is you can connect it to multiple light around your home. This minimize the amount of remote controls you have around the house. What I really like is that is magnetic, that means you can put in on the fridge or any magnetic piece you have in the house.

Does Not PairMatthewThis remote has one job and it can't do it. The device will not pair with my Tradfri driver and Ikea product support was absolutely useless - they directed me to the product page.
StyrbarGuadalupeIts ok but the round one (the old design) like better because l just need to push it to turn it off or on and this other one needs to push the correct side but when is dark is difficult to see the correct side.
Design/manufacturing issueEnricoWe just bought two STYRBAR remotes to pair with smart bulbs and a TRÅDFRI controller. The pairing didn't work with either. In fact, there seemed to be no signs of life from the remote. Voltage tested my batteries, reset both devices over and over. Nothing.
Then I realized on close inspection that the nipple on the positive battery terminal couldn't reach the contact, which was set just a little too deep inside a channel. After spending 30 seconds stuffing little pieces of aluminum foil into the channels, both remotes woke up and worked perfectly.
I wonder how much time and effort will be lost from IKEA employees and customers banging their heads against the wall over this simple--and tragic--design flaw.
