Product details

The cabinet in walnut veneer with legs of solid ash brings a warm, natural feeling to your room.

The distinctive grain pattern in the walnut veneer gives each piece of furniture a unique character.

Walnut is a naturally hardwearing material. The surface has been made even more durable by a protective coat of lacquer.

You can store everything from plates to binders in the cabinet. The deep shelves and the two large drawers provide plenty of storage space.

Push openers give the cabinet a streamlined look with no handles or knobs needed.

You can easily change the height according to your storage needs as the shelves are adjustable.

Beautiful piece of furnitureCarlosThis is a beautiful piece of furniture, good quality and easy to assemble.5
As many others have noticed,DavidAs many others have noticed, getting the doors lined up just right, requires a tremendous amount of patience, trial and error (and I gave up at the "good enough but not perfect" stage). Since IKEA gives you one of those small Allen wrenches, it would be nice if IKEA included biodegradable plastic spacers or told you how to make your own. With the benefit of hindsight, I would have used the spacers to get the bottom drawers lined up before they clicked into place and become difficult to adjust/remove. Get past that (or live with slight imperfections) and it's an amazing, versatile cabinet at a very competitive price.4
Getting doors straight is superSylvi4Getting doors straight is super difficult! Other than that, product is very pretty4
I’ve loved itCLDCI knew what I wanted in my head...a walnut very modern and symmetrical piece. Looked far and wide and the only items that fit were wayyy too $$$. I didn’t necessarily want ikea due to my impression that everything is cheaply made, I succumbed to buying this beautiful piece and the TV cabinet for my living room. Still love them to this day. My only issue is the drawers don’t quite line up. Now I really want some bedroom pieces in the same style, but there is nothing equivalent unfortunately.4
Quality itemMaggie8183I have been admiring this Stockholm cabinet for a couple of years now, and found a display cabinet marked down in the clearance section. It was a little dusty, but cleaned up beautifully, and I am SO impressed with this piece. Magnetic close doors and drawers, adjustable shelf, and more spacious inside than it looks. Plus, as a display item, it was already assembled. Love it!!5
Great bar cabinetDonna48823I’ve been lusting over a 3 grand bar cabinet for a couple of years and was almost ready to buy it but then I saw this wonderful piece. A friend and I put it together with no problem. It’s heavy so two people are better than one. I added wine goblet racks under the top of the cabinet. Even the tallest spirit bottles fit beneath the glasses. The drawers have room for other entertainment items. It looks great. Not quite as great as the one that costs $2400 more but so darn close! I am delighted!5
Great quality and lots of storage!AlwaysJoeCoolThis is a great addition to our dining room to store extra dishes. It’s really nice and looks much more expensive than it is! We love it!5
Looks nice, opening mechanisms trickyroxette521We bought this to place near the front door and store the most used items. It first several pairs of shoes, bags, and the lower compartments are great for bike helmets and other accessories. The only issue I have with the cabinet is the spring opening mechanism - it could definitely be better. You have to push on the door or drawer to open them, and if you don't do it in just the right spot, they don't open.3
DissapointedVerified BuyerFloor sample looked much better than unit I received. Wood is dull with a gray cast, grain color on doors does not line up with grain and color on drawers. All in all, very disappointed.2
so greatChrisBNewHampshirebought for new ski condo and has TV on top and bar inside. Drinks for everyone!5
Well-made and looks great.Verified BuyerClassy enough to fit in with a mid century room without breaking the bank. Makes a great bar cabinet. Had it put together by a professional which was worth it.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is veneer?

A veneer is a thin wooden sheet attached to things like particleboard to add a durable surface and a natural wood look – so we enjoy the many benefits of wood without using solid wood. The most common veneer types are birch, ash, oak, and beech, and we’ve made a special UV lacquer that helps preserve the wood's natural structure. A benefit with a slightly thicker veneer is how you can repair and sand the surface if it’s damaged to give furniture a longer and more beautiful life.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

Details create long-term quality. When I designed the STOCKHOLM series, I used lacquer that protects the surface and makes the material feel natural. The big picture was key, and the robust look is also on the inside and the backside. The slightly higher legs add simplicity to the expression and the table’s soft lines and the straight design of the storage units create contrasts, just like in nature. The result is timeless furniture ‒ just as beautiful alone as together!
