You can assemble it yourself CatherineIt’s very sturdy built and the hardware used for the assembly is strong. The color is quite a bit lighter than pictured. It took 2-1/2 hours for the 2 of us to put it all together. The drawings in the instruction booklet are very clear. I am very pleased with the cabinet even if slightly disappointing in the color but I’ll get used to it 5
High Quality PieceMichaelI was originally looking at media consoles from other brands for over 2k. I ultimately went with IKEA's Stockholm and so glad I did.
The oak veneer is beautiful, and the design is simple while still offering quality craftsmanship. I personally didn’t find the assembly difficult. It took me about 45 minutes by myself with the help of a power drill.5
Beautiful and substantialSammyIt was larger than expected, but it fits my 65" TV perfectly with extra space on the sides and complements a Japandi aesthetic, which is why I purchased it.
Assembly was straightforward despite other reviews; it took me about two hours by myself. The sliding doors work well. I did encounter an issue with the back panel due to misaligned cutouts in the early steps, but with some effort I was able to fit it in. Others have reported the same issue, so there's some issue with their manufacturing.
Cables must be routed from underneath rather than the back, which isn't optimal, but there is thoughtful cable management inside the drawers. However, my power strip won't fit behind it so it defeats the purpose.
Also, the leveling screws on the bottom which allow you to adjust the height do not work, the screws get stripped so they won't hold when adjusted.
Still, I give this media console a 5/5 based on the design and quality for the price.5
Nice, solid piece of furnitureRhondaThis is the most difficult piece of furniture from IKEA that I’ve assembled. But it’s worth it because it’s solid and looks great. You need to be very particular when installing the doors…it took me a while to make sure they were in the tracks correctly to slide. 5
Great Looking Piece - Slightly Difficult to Put TogetherReaganThe Stockholm line is known for being more polished and this TV unit is no exception. It looks fantastic! Extremely solid look and feel to the entire piece. Doors slide easy, even if they are wood. I didn’t find them annoyingly loud like other reviewers. Taking a star off due to the somewhat awkward cable management that protrudes from the bottom as well as having issues during assembly. The back particle board wouldn’t slide in properly due to uneven groove cuts, so I had to use a screwdriver to make the grooves bigger so it would slot in correctly. Other than that, a great looking piece.4
BeautifulAidaLooks so nice in our living room. It was easy to put together.5
Assembly was painful, but the result worth itCaiPerhaps this unit wasn't ideal for my first IKEA furniture assembly go around. Even moving slowly and meticulously through the instructions, I ended up having to dissamble my work multiple times to backtrack and the build ended up clocking in around 5 hours.
Although for the price I had hoped for a better finish, I was still pleased with the final product overall. In the month that I've used it, I've found that the doors slide open and closed without snagging or any unreasonable amount of force required even though they are wood on wood.4
great piece, difficult to put togetherPatriciaI've put together many pieces of IKEA furniture. A few are a challenge, but end with ease. This TV unit was really tough. Couldn't line it up and finally decided to shift some things to make it work. This is a piece I didn't use to facilitate putting it together and it finally made it work. It is a nice piece that serves it's purpose beautifully. That said, it was a bit of a bear to put together.4
DoorsJordanBeautiful but the doors do not slide smoothly which is a pain. Not keeping. 2
Looks nice if you can put it togetherBrianMine arrived and after a frustrating 45 minutes trying to get past the first couple of steps i realized they drilled the holes incorrectly so the new screwless pop into place system doesnt work. I had it delivered and cant be bothered to fight to get a return. Waste of $.1
Great TV ConsoleKevinI went to see it in person and found that the wood-on-wood sliding doors were great. I purchased it and love it in my living room. It gives a great calming and Scandinavian vibe, especially for the price.5
LoveeeeAudreyI love everything about this console. It was super easy to assemble. The material doesn't feel excessively cheap, and the overall build is good quality and sturdy, especially for the price point. The doors slide easily; however, it is wood on wood, so if you want it to be extra "smooth", I'd add some wax to the track, but that seriously isn't necessary. The doors slide open and closed super easily. 5
Great TV ConsoleKevinBased on other reviews, I went to check it out in person before purchasing, and I found that the wood-on-wood sliding mechanism was not problematic at all. I am very happy with my purchase and I think it is a great value for the money. It looks great in my living room with a clean and calm aesthetic.5
So beautiful KevinWe are in love with this TV stand. It is drop dead gorgeous! It looks like high-price designer, but at an affordable price. It is sosososo good! The doors are also so smooth and beautiful, the glide system is very much in Japanese style. 5
BeautifulMarinaLooks perfect in our living room. Sturdier than other furniture that we bought elsewhere. Easy to assemble. 5
