Ala Carte Pretty Light; Lacks Batteries/Charging CordCharleneI had high hopes for this design, but it’s not user friendly. Forces you to buy and use proprietary rechargeable batteries that cost nearly as much as the light, plus supposed to be ready to use but aren’t and you don’t even receive a charging cord or batteries! Ad states that it is for outdoors but has cautions regarding water intrusion. It’s really just folded over mesh with a plastic fixture like what you might mount in your closet. You unscrew the plate, add two batteries. Screw on plate. Press down on a soft indent on the top of the plastic to turn on/off. Other buyers are mistaken thinking recharged by sun or has a timer. Not advertised as a solar light. No auto on/off timer unless pushing the indent sets something. Bottom rubber piece (easily lost I fear) pops off to insert a charge cord for batteries. Unclear how to know if fully charged. Bought battery plug in charger, more unforeseen cost. Bought other two size lamps. Same set-up process via eyeglass screwdriver.

Does not turn offReaganAt first I could not get the light to turn on via the switch after charging. Once I finally got it on, it will not turn off. Of If I get it to turn off it randomly turns back in 2 seconds later...

Beautiful design - worst IKEA product I ever purchasedLesleyI should have read the reviews first. I am not the only one with this experience. This lamp requires batteries (sold separately) which is not an issue but the fact that the battery compartment cannot be opened without stripping the screws is the issue. Tried 4 screwdrivers, over a dozen heads, bought two of these lamps which are unusable because they cannot be opened to put the batteries in. The text free instructions don't help this situation either. I never imagined I could have a negative IKEA experience. Their design and packaging are always ingenious. Not sure who designed what is effectively attractive garbage is but it is definitely worth a recall. Or a link with a video on HOW this can be made to work. Thank goodness it is limited edition. Maybe the number of customers turned off IKEA by this product will be small.
