I ordered this shade online and had to guess at which dimension 7 inches referred to. It's the bottom opening diameter for those who are curious.
The top opening is about 5 inches and the shade is 6 inches high.
Please add the full dimensions to the shades because this shade is too small for my lamp and now I have to order a new shade.

Okay, but ...MelindaI really liked the color of the lampshade and the price point was excellent but a couple of features make me rate it with only three stars: difficult to assemble in that that wire frame keeps popping out; IKEA needs to make their lampshades more universal in size in that no matter what I did, this did not fit on to my lamp.
I had to return because I could not stabilize it to my lamp ~ wire frame kept popping loose and overall shade kept wobbling.

A more sustainable trip for lampshades
It’s quite possible that you’ll be a little surprised when you pick up your SKOTTORP lampshade at an IKEA store or at your local parcel pick-up point. Can a 17" diameter lampshade really fit in that flat package? Actually, yes! It was interestingly after an unexpected phone call when we realized that it was high time to package a cone-shaped lampshade in a flat pack.
Gintare Cirbaite, a packaging engineer at IKEA, received the phone call: “It was from an employee at one of our e-commerce distribution centers and he was quite frustrated. Every time he sent a large, cone-shaped lampshade, he had to pack it in a huge box that mostly comprised of air."
