MAXIMERA drawer is a smooth-running, full-extension drawer with built-in dampers so that it closes slowly, softly, and quietly.

The door damper prevents your cabinet door from slamming by catching the moving door so that it closes slowly, gently and silently.

The door can be mounted to open to the left or right.

Sturdy frame construction, ¾" thick.

You can customize spacing as needed, because the shelves are adjustable.

Snap-on hinges can be mounted onto the door without screws, and you can easily remove the door for cleaning.

Perfect!debbieGreat size, sturdy and would buy again5
No configuration instructions, wrecked cabinetSALLY R.This has been an extremely frustrating & time consuming project. Our worst Ikea experience by a long shot. This needs instructions for the completed cabinet configuration so that it's not just trial & error. As others have noted, Ikea makes furniture that goes together well, but does not come apart well. We had to switch the hinges because they landed where drawer slides & shelves where. And we had to move the slides. When we hung the door, it overlapped the top drawer. Had to move the slides again. The door still caught the edge of the drawer. Flipped the door back around, moved the hinges back over, found that the little black bits on the hinges had expanded (as they seem meant to do) and caused a TON of damage to the hinge sockets. The small hinge attachment piece on the cabinet also caused damage when we moved those. The repositioning has caused exposed particle board that is just waiting to soak up moisture on the next humid/steamy kitchen day. Hang the door(s) first.2
Great peace easy to assembleRobertI got it in no time, all parts were counted5
Good Product. Directions are incorrect.Nadia A.First, each part has it's own instructions. You have to move back and forth between them. I found them relatively easy, BUT, the instructions for the bottom high drawer are WRONG. When attaching the drawer face for the bottom high drawer, do not put the screws in the top two holes of the hardware. Use the bottom two holes. Look for a youtube video 'Maximera drawer assembly' by a nice grandpa named 'FIX IT Yourself.'4
There are no directions!!!Elisabeth B.This configuration looks good on the website, but you must know before purchasing this item that there are directions for each part, but there are no directions for how to put the whole project together. Which, unless you are an engineer may prove to be a trial and error project, as it has for me. I would be guessing at how many hours I have into this project, but I am guessing somewhere around 12, and I just took the drawers back out and the rails back off because the door won't go on with the placement of the drawers. And if you know Ikea products, you know that they are not meant to be undone. It always damages the particle board. I believe I will be happy with the finished product, but the lack of instructions is just blatently uncaring!3

Ikea must create comprehensive instruction for Maximera. There's an incredible amount of trial and error otherwise.art s.I bought a Sektion/Maximer pantry cabinet that looked perfect for my needs. I had a similar experience as Joeseph S above although this is my 5th Ikea kitchen. The Cabinet comes with 8 sets of instructions for each piece or drawer and no comprehensive set for the entire unit. The problem is that there are multiple ways to put each drawer together and unless you get it just right for your configuration it doesn't all fit together and the worst part is that you don't find out until the very end. I spent a ton time at trial and error moving drawers and now the faces for the drawers and think I have it figured out. I hope so.1
Pantry cabinetsErinWe used these cabinets for our pantry and they are perfect. The bodarp gray/green is beautiful in person!5
Looks good, install was a nightmareCabinet comes with 8 sets of instructions for each piece and no comprehensive set for the entire unit. Even with the lower drawers in the lowest possible spots, the only placement option for the upper door was having it be blocked by a drawer or leaving a considerable gap. I called customer service and they were no help; just kept referring me to the instructions (none of which illustrate slider/hinge placement to resemble the product listing). The end result was that i had to drill custom holes for the door hinges about halfway between the existing sets. The only thing i can think of is that the factory drilled the holes in the wrong place, but I'd never know since the instructions don't tell you where to hang each section of the unit. Had i not already spent considerable time affixing this to the studs in my kitchen i would have returned it.2
Very well made, love theSUEVery well made, love the slide out drawers4

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
