Do not washKristenI wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing. I washed it once and got the yellow splotches and thought it was my fault and even tried washing it again at the dry cleaner and got worse.
Don’t waste your money.JonLike everyone else has said, it’s a great comforter…until you have to wash it (which everyone does). There are weird color splotches all over and it is ruined. Do not waste your time and money with this product. Very disappointed because me and my partner loved the look and feel of it :(
Ruined after 1st wash. There's a reason it's on clearance!BreanneAbsolutely awful. We did a cold water wash with regular tide detergent, and as soon as we pulled it out to put it in the dryer, it now looked like it was acid washed. Faded ALL over in blotchy spots. Total waste of money, very upset.
Fades to tie-dye in washAudreyNice comforter until you wash it for the first time. Completely ruined and looks like lime green and teal tie-dye. IKEA needs to recall these
Sanela quiltRebeccaVery happy with color and quality of fabric.
DiscolorationJohnI so wanted to like this comforter. I love the color, and I loved the texture when I saw it in the store. But after the VERY FIRST WASH a bunch of yellow blotches appeared. I thought other reviewers exaggerated the issue, but nope. I wish we could upload photos as proof. And I line dried the comforter and the pillow cases, so it has nothing to do with the dryer. I live 200 miles from the nearest IKEA but it'll be worth the gas money to take this piece of garbage back for a refund. What happened to IKEA's quality control?
Love this winter comforterRoseMy husband and I travelled through Scandinavia and Iceland. We stayed at air bnb and holiday homes. They had two twin comforters with duvets on their king size bed. We thought that was odd but we slept well and had our own comforter for the cold weather.
We got back home and went to IKEA to find two XL twin comforters and duvet set. I saw this comforter and loved the velvet. It’s heavy too. It is definitely a winter comforter but it’s winter in Texas and it’s 30 degrees today. We have never slept better. We bought a $10k bed thinking we could sleep better. We tried over 10 pillows, feather top, sheets… who knew sleeping with our own comforter would make a difference. I wash the duvet every week but wash the comforter once a month. I have not had any issues with the material changing color like other people had. We use Tide He detergent and a downy softener. It does take awhile to dry. I dry it for about an hour then hang dry the rest of the way. For our hot summer months, I’ll probably get the ikea cool comforter insert.
I’m buying this set for my nephews who live in the Dakotas. They like weighted blankets so this would be perfect.
Was great until washedRayna I literally came here to see the reviews because I just pulled it out of the dryer following manufacturer recommendations and it also came out with yellow splotches all over as someone else stated. I am glad that someone else experienced this, but am sad because I LOVE this comforter. However is not machine washable as it states. Used regular detergent no bleach and warm temp.
Full of polyesterTaylorThe description says 100% cotton, but if you dig deeper to the materials it's full of polyester. I wanted a breathable cotton blanket which the description says this was. Its not. Ive never sweated so much in my life.
Poor ConstructionAnne KThe comforter is the perfect color but I washed it and the seams on one side did not hold up. I am trying to return it but am not having much success.
Was great until I washed itHollyBeautiful comforter--lovely color and very warm. But we washed it and it now has yellow splotches all over the velvet side. We washed it on a delicate setting with cold water and Woolite, so this should not have happened. Very disappointed.
WarmChinatsunice set! easy to use.
CozyWendyIt’s a nice set. Easy to wash, looks good, and it’s cotton so it breathes but it is still warm. Both my husband and I like it.
