MisleadingVikkiThe sensor button does not work once light is installed in unit. 3
Great under-cabinet light - but batteries don't last long on highAnonymousI bought two of these lights for a friend to use in his kitchen under his cabinets. He won't use the included cables. They light up his small kitchen nicely. He uses them on the highest settings and they last for a few days. The switch is very sensitive to the touch but after a few times, we had it well figured out. I'm happy with the value for the price and he's happy with his new kitchen lights.4
It is goodLeeWorks well, but requires special batteries, if you don't plan to keep it plugged in4
Bright and Fleeting Light Anonymous reviewerThis undercounter light has three useful brightness settings and feels very solid. My only qualm with this light is that it has to be recharged frequently.4
Good idea, ineffective in practice CallisaI needed a small light under a picture ledge without any nearby outlets. This light took less five minutes to install, but stopped working the very next day. The sensor button stopped responding to touch and the light would not turn on. I tried to reset the light by flipping the on/off switch, but the light would return to being non-responsive by the next day. I ended up just taking the light back down. Oh, well. 1
Broken solder joints on F1 fuseMichaelI purchased 2 of these. 1 of them worked perfectly, the other one would only work while it was plugged in and not off of battery power. As an electrical engineer, I was intrigued. I disassembled the light and found the F1 circuit fuse had broken off and was rattling around inside. Good thing I found it, they are very tiny.
Anyways , I resoldered it back into its correct location and glued the case back together, Viola, it worked !
Message for Quality Control, whomever is soldering your circuits needs to do a better job, there is barely any solder holding them together.3
Might have figured out the touch button issueDennisI was suffering from the non-responsive touch button issue for quite a while and decided I'd try to figure it out by taking the unit apart.
Luckily I didn't have to get that far--while sliding the mounting bracket on and off the light, I noticed that the one with the mechanical ON/OFF slider switch under it apparently pushes the slider switch either ON or OFF depending on the direction the light is inserted into the mount.
So, what apparently had been happening is that I had been sliding the mechanical switch to OFF without knowing it, and that disables the touch button while it's on battery power!
BUT, here's the kicker--even if the slider switch is OFF, the touch button will work if the USB cord is plugged into power.
This explains all the problems everyone else is having. I have to do more long-term testing to be sure my solution is the solution, but it sure looks like it's the fix for this common problem.4
You Get What You Pay For I GuessCyritaI needed some lighting in my coffee bar and I liked that these could be wireless and rechargeable. I bought two and the recommended ikea brand rechargable batteries. The light was very bright and just what I needed. Unfortunately, the batteries died in less than an hour. So I thought, well maybe they werent fully charged to begin with. I let them fully recharge over night. Batteries died again within 24 hours. Every 1-2 days I have to recharge them which makes zero sense. I will have to plug them in full time which I did not want. The appeal was that they were wireless. I wish I had read these reviews before I purchased. But I was in store and had no idea. If you are looking for a wireless solution THIS IS NOT IT.2
Doesn't work on battery; good light when plugged inPamelaPros: Great light color/warmth. Aesthetically pleasing design.
Cons: Does not work on 1.2V AA HR6 NiMH batteries as it should per its advertising. Behavior: Turns on for a second, then turns off, and won't turn back on unless you cycle the on/off switch, pop the batteries, wait a while (behavior unpredictable - never did figure out the magic formula to get it to work consistently).
Tips: Just keep it plugged in (if you can) - don't bother with batteries. And use Command strips rather than the mounting tape / sliders Ikea provides.
My experience: Had this problem with one light, brought it back, was told "likely a bad batch", got a new one, same problem, gave up, accepted this is a corded light and just taped up the cord to get it out of the way. 2

Sensor lightKimI tried using this sensor light under my desk for my PC keyboard. Every time I type on the keyboard, the light keeps going on and off, and the dimmer too. I wouldn't recommend this for computer keyboard use. 2
Love it!LisaWonderful quality at a great price. East to install!5

Great lampFranciscoEasy to install and good light5
This is a great little light!!RobertI was very surprised with this low profile and bright light. I found out when I got home that it was rechargeable and what a great surprise that was.
After having this for about a month, I am still glad I bought this for a reading light.5
SCAM-DO NOT BUYCinnamonJUNK! Just like the other reviewers. I bought for a closet and was fine using batteries (3 by the way). Literally worked for a minute or two. Now, we had to tear off the 3m adhesive to our perfectly painted closet trim to remove this junk. It's terrible to sell garbage. Will be returning the other 2. Too bad it can't just be a working product?1
Product broke on 2nd useDrakeI had no trouble installing this but it no longer functions after the 2nd time I tried to turn on the light. Batteries are all full. Light doesn't turn on. Very disappointed in Ikea quality. Only bought this like 2 weeks ago and used it once.1
Very nice light bar, but the touch control may be difficult for some.TomThe light's, color, illumination, and construction are great. I like the fact that power is being run through a USB-like cable: thin and easy to hide under a cabinet (unlike a typical AC power cord). For those that are challenged by "capacitive" touch controls the light bar can be difficult to turn on and off, especially if it's under a cabinet and you can't see the touch sensor location. For those that are tech savvy and used to modern touch controls, no problem - I think you'll like it!4
Surprises in every cornerEldianWas split between the Mittleds or these, ended up choosing these for the modular uses that it can do. First off, this is just your generic bookcase Lightning, you can dim it with a touch of your finger.
It tells you that leaving regular batteries will wear out fast but if you pay close attention to the manual, you can buy the LADDA Rechargeable batteries and this kit will recharge them in place. Or you can plug them straight to the wall, power bank or usb powered outlet without batteries, either way highly convenient for simple setups that don’t require messy wiring from daisy chaining mittleds to their tradfri’s if need be.
The only con for this item is the lack of wireless control whatsoever.
Don’t let the pictures you fool you, it looks big on the promotional pictures but the lighting is actually pretty small!5
