Spoons are awful in 2025JackiePlease work on quality control! These new spoons are not usable whatsoever and look nothing like the photos shown online. Do not order and waste your time, you will have to return.
I would love feedback from Ikea and to know when this issue is resolved. I'll be waiting (fingers crossed!) to purchase these again.
New Supplier, Spoons Absolutely UnusableNikkiI have purchased (literally) thousands of these spoons for my small business. Ikea's supplier has changed and they are now unusable. The wood is lighter, much rougher, has chips and splits. The shape of the spoon has changed as well. It's almost as if the new supplier "cut" the spoon and then just said "good enough". These have not been shaped, sanded, or smoothed in any way. I tried to use these by sanding/shaping myself, but even with all the extra work put in, the quality is terrible. The photos on the site are of the old spoon. Be aware that if you order these, you will not get the product pictured.
I have spoken to about a dozen different employees, filed "quality reports", showed them the old vs. new spoons, and spoken with Ikea Business over the last five months. Nothing has changed.
Ikea- PLEASE bring back the previous supplier!
The quality is no longer there with the flat end spoons!MarkI've purchased these many times in the past and the quality was always very good, but my last two orders the flat end spoons were unusable and needed to be returned! These were originally manufactured in China but are now coming from Romania and the quality is terrible. I'm hoping this is a temporary change in manufacturers!

Used to be niceCarrieThe new design on the round ones isn't horrible, but it is different than the previous version. But the new flat top RORT spoons are absolutely horrible. Splinters, bad design for cooking, so rough, it seems like it's made of rough pine instead of beechwood.
Different supplier, now trashCarrieThe new design on these is horrible. The wood needs to be sanded, and some of them already look ready to split before the first use. I have bought thousands of these for my business and how I need a new supplier, because the newer version of these is AWFUL.
Don't buyCarmelaTotal trash. I know it didn't cost much, but I could have bought a coffee and enjoyed it more. The first time I used the spoon it split from the top to the middle. It's not worth returning, but every little bit adds up.
