The curved shield creates a feeling of private space and makes the desk also look nice from behind.
The shield has a narrow opening where you can lead cables out to the back.

japandi midcentury modern deskClarethough expensive, assembly was not that bad, screwing some parts was difficult because of how hard we had to twist the screws in so that it would not wiggle. the desk is also a bit wobbly, but that might be due to user error. love the glass, but i wish ikea sold drawer organizers that fit the drawers.
After a week of use...AndreyThis desk might be okay for hand-writing, but it is horribly uncomfortable for typing on a keyboard. Also, the lower horizontal bar doesn't let you stretch your legs. Don't recommend to buy, at least if you have legs.
Good looking desk butAndreyBut I wish the drawers were half as tall. Almost impossible to be able to fit my legs under the desk while having my elbows at the desk level. Not sure I will be able to comfortably work at this desk.
Beautiful DeskKathyI love this desk! It is spacious, comfortable height, and I like the "window"! I especially appreciate the rounded edging, as it makes my office space seem seperate from the rest of the room.
Beautiful + functional but price should be lowered.ValerieA.) Pros: Easy assembly +solid build. Meets my organizational needs thanks to its wide drawers. While curved design prohibits use of my dual monitor C-clamp mount, it prevents my Mac Studio +2 monitors from sliding off the desk and falling on the floor. Use of tempered glass is reassuring safety-wise as our cats love jumping on my desk.
B.) Cons: There's a little gap where the metal crossbar connects to the legs. Cutout for cable management has more gaps on mine/doesn’t look as seamless as what's shown in the online pictures but it's not terrible either. Glass has a bit of vertical play. I had to wrap 4 layers of clear Scotch tape on each end to stop it from moving. Drawers' fiberboard is flimsy (no surprises there). Wood stickers weren’t included to cover the metal connectors, but should be at this price point. I bought the Idasen cabinet in green w/it and together, they have an unmistakable retro vibe. They transformed my office from dull and sterile to warm, colorful +cozy.
