Moving a lotYuhongThis is just a slightly thicker plastic sheet. The back has very little friction, so it keeps sliding around on my desk, and it can’t be used as a mouse pad either. For me, it’s not practical, and even as decoration, it feels a bit burdensome.

Nice desk pad, but slipperyDariceThis desk pad is nice and thick so it doesn't curl like thinner ones do. I had one that was thinner and after awhile it started to curl and warp if you put a warm cup of coffee on it. I don't think this one will do that since it is thicker.
The only thing that I don't like about it is that it's a bit slippery so it moves around on your desk a lot. I often find myself moving it back to where it should be.
One side is smooth, the other is textured so you know which side is on the bottom. But it's not reversible if you wanted the option of a second side, you can't flip it over unless you don't care if it's bumpy.
Bought to use for my crafting CeliaI have used this item at a crafting event I attend. The hostess has one for everyone attending. It works great so we don’t damage the tabletops. They clean up easy.

Cheap plastic different than they used to beDanielI have used these desk pads for drawing. They used to be rubbery , now it’s hard plastic. I’m sure you know what I am talking. Slides aroundAnonymousNot usable as a desk protector. It slides all over the place, the mouse doesn't track nicely on the slick surface, and it's too small in overall dimensions. Yet another product that used to be good, but has been changed for the worse. The cost savings efforts made by the IKEA product developers are out of control!

We prefer the clear ones over these white onesPeggyThese are more opaque than those we used to buy and we prefer those to let the natural wood of our desks show through. The clearer ones do tend to become wavy at the edges, so that they do not lay flat. These more opaque ones hopefully will not do that.

Does its job.RichardIt's a sheet of plastic with rounded corners - hard to go wrong. Good price. It's translucent white, so despite what another reviewer said I can't read anything I put under it. Smooth on one side and textured on the other. Smooth side works better with an optical mouse. Personally a desk pad with the same depth but a longer width would work better for me, but these proportions seem like the industry standard.
