It only looks prettyMariaThe bench is eye-catching and marketed as sturdy. Not so. Even though we put several coats of top-rated waterproof varnish before even taking it outdoors (which protects all of our other outdoor wooden items perfectly), it couldn't save this shoddy product. After 2-3 weeks spent outside in the summer sun and occasional rain, the bench started showing signs of splitting and was full of cracks running along the wood pieces that were poorly glued together by IKEA. Very disappointed this product couldn't last a month at the price it cost. 1

Ok outdoor benchMichelleThis bench is sturdy but uncomfortable and NOT suited to outdoors. It looks lovely, but you can't sit on it without a cushion for more than 10 minutes. In addition the feet have indoor sliders (why) that collect dirt. Just putting a thicker finish (like spar varnish) on it would improveit massively. If the instructions for a "outdoor" bench say take it inside when it rains, uts nit an outdoor bench3
