Not concrete friendly!BRENDAI bought replacements for 2 bowls that fell on the kitchen floor. My apartment is vinyl flooring directly on a concrete slab, and the glass lost the fight. I like that they're relatively lightweight, unlike the ceramic I had previously.5

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"The challenge when I designed OFTAST series was to combine good function with a very low price. I gave the plates and bowls a timeless, functional and harmonious form that makes both the manufacturing and transport efficient. And I chose to use the material tempered glass, which is thin and elegant, yet durable. My hope is that OFTAST will therefore work well in many kitchens all around the world."
