Love This SOO Much!!!MargaretThis metal filter really makes a difference in how smooth our coffee taste. My family loves to use this to make their cup of joe. No paper filter needed and coffee is more tastier which saves money and the environment. Win win situation.5
Overest coffee dripMargaretGood value for the money.5
No Microplastics in Your Coffee!LeDon't believe the bad reviews, this makes the best cup of strong, pour-over coffee ever! Use it with a paper coffee filter to create a slower drip (stronger coffee) & prevent any grounds from leaking through. I'm making perfect European-style coffee with this & am so happy with the results. Throw away your plastic coffee maker to avoid microplastics & plastic chemicals, opt for this stainless-steel coffee maker instead. I'm using it daily, letting it air dry upside down, & am so happy that it there is no rust. Sometimes rusting can happen with stainless steel, but I'm not experiencing that with this particular product! Thank you Ikea, this is my most favorite coffee maker that I've ever owned. Please always keep this in stock!5
Coffee filter holderMichaelGreat price and quality. The spout is a little too long.4
works OK without paper filterKirstenunlike most metal mesh reusable filters, this one keeps the water in contact with the grounds long enough for a nice extract. The stainless steel material is an excellent choice: sturdy enough that it can take a tumble and not shatter (unlike ceramic), and it is not plastic, nylon, etc. The only blooper is the support platter which is solid, making it impossible to see how full the cup is getting. Unless you are using a glass mug or pouring over a measured amount of water to fill but not overfill, it is easy to end up with fresh coffee all over the counter. 5
Great for filtering with minor modAnonymous reviewerInitially, I was in the group that was frustrated with weak coffee and overflowing cups. I got a 500 mL measuring cup (looks like a graduated cylinder with a handle and pour spout) to stir hot water and coffee and then pour through the filter. Much easier than cleaning a French press, the measuring cup takes the guesswork out of volume, and coffee is strong. 4
Easy to use multi purpose pour overJoanBought this for camping but will keep it handy at home for brewing one cup in the afternoon. Used already ground coffee and the mesh filter worked just fine. Since we use a metal filter in our drip coffee maker, the thick layer at the bottom of the the cup is not a problem. The cover that holds the funnel in place helps keep the coffee warm while it brews. And the funnel will come in handy on its own5
Poorly designed- makes bad coffeeNikhilUnfortunately too much sediment flows through and the water does not seep throughly slowly enough to get proper coffee flavors. The result is weak and muddy coffee. If you use a paper filter it works fine but then what’s the point of the metal filter they’ve provided? A regular pour over mug is just fine. 2
Best Pour-over filter!BeckyThis is so much better than using paper filters and a ceramic holder. It's easy to clean. Highly recommended.5
Works for UsMichele DThis coffee filter system works better than the other 2 I purchased elsewhere. However, the base unscrews, I'm thinking for cleaning purposes, and the top filter has popped off its base. Other than that we like it very much. 3
Good quality but…AlinaGood quality but too many moving parts. 4
Works greatMarieFilter allows water to flow and keeps grounds inside. Easy to clean.5
1 year laterCloudStill great! We use recycled paper basket filters. Not a perfect fit, but absorbs the oil in the coffee. Fits a Starbucks venti mug perfectly and fits flat, but not as nicely on medium and small mugs. It hasn't rusted or dented despite being dropped a gajillion times. Love the plastic-free design.5
Well Designed and Built ProductAnonymousI love the overall design and build quality, but it could be better if the filter could be finer. 4
works perfectly!Dejacontrary to what others have said, this pour over funnel is perfect! you'll still need a filter for coffee (as you do with most pour overs if you don't want a gritty, full bodied brew) but it does the job very well. 10/10 would recommend 5
Great priceKimMake a good cup of joe5
Sturdy but doesn’t have holes at the bottomNiniSturdy but doesn’t have holes at the bottom so there’s always residual liquids when emptying the filter. Would be perfect if there were a couple holes at the bottom too.3
Pour OverKariOk, I had the OXO brand and this one from IKEA is amazing!!! I gave the other one away. I know have pour overs every day!5
The överst works just as attendedJadaRecently I’ve been getting into different method of making coffee so I picked this up online when I realized I own nothing like it. Of course the tools don’t make the perfect cup but I can say it was easy to use for a nice single serve.5
Just bought my secondChrisIt would be five stars, but the second cost almost double what the first one cost.4

ÖVERST Metal coffee filter, stainless steel

A better everyday one cup at a time

Have you had coffee or tea today? Statistically, you most likely have. In fact, these hot brews are the most consumed beverages in the world next after water. They’re a part of life that can give a silver lining to any moment. That’s why we decided to update our selection of products to make that perfect cup – from the tea infuser and the kettle to the milk frother.

Malin Ljungström, who was involved in developing the range, shares her insights. “To many, the smell of coffee and tea means well-being and a homey feeling. Since we want to improve people’s everyday, we’re offering products that make it possible for more to experience more feelgood moments at home.”

Developing things that make a difference

Malin and her colleagues dug deep into coffee and tea cultures to find out what tools people feel they can’t live without. They talked to specialists and investigated living, eating and drinking habits. “We wanted to develop items that make a difference, so we’ve focused on a few, but carefully selected products,” she states. The team cooperated with IKEA Test Lab in Älmhult, Sweden. It’s an IKEA version of a James Bond lab where prototypes are inspected and evaluated. “A couple of the things we checked were that the thermoses can keep fluids really warm for a long time. And that the glass mugs and glass pots are durable and comfortable, even though they look and feel light and airy,” says Malin.

For all tastes and different wallets

No matter how you enjoy your cup, you’ll find the things that put an extra flavor to your drink in the range. Another good thing is that there’s something for all wallets. “It’s one of our contributions to a better life at home. A way to improve people’s everyday one cup at a time,” concludes Malin.

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing items – without losing its valuable properties.

Designer thoughts

"We`ve always been interested in coffee and tea and we got to be really nerdy during this assignment. We wanted to make generous, functional and true products that focus on the drink. A kitchen full of gadgets doesn`t make it easier to get the right taste- instead we focused on a few things with really good quality. With these products you can make the perfect cup- and enjoy good coffee and tea whenever you like"
